They've known each other for years, not that it's anyone else's business! She's just got engaged to Joel Montague (currently the king in Hamilton). After like 3 months of dating 🚩🚩🚩🚩

not that it's anyone else's business! Quite true, although it's splashed all over the media and when you self promote you can't but expect people to comment.

She did say that she only posted about it on social media was because the Daily Mail were contacting her agent and were going to 'break the story'.

Please be careful of encroaching on her personal life. Yes she posts that kind of thing on her socials and her “performance” on social media is generally up for discussion up to a point.
However we are not going to host a discussion about personal matters such as how long they’ve been dating or anything else about their personal situation.

Carrie has added an extra 7 dates to her UK tour next year - http://instagram.com/p/CkYR9IBON-E I'm really surprised at the Glasgow date addition as the Edinburgh date looks to be about half filled at the moment, but June is ages away I suppose and the promoters will know more than I do!

I couldn't find the thread for the UK version - 'ALW's Cinderella', locked by mods in November until people cooled down apparently, and it was said by mods at the time that it would be reopened "presently". If I just can't see it then "my BAD".... to coin a phrase. Or, move this to the International section if the thread is closed forever - but this is really about London.
I'm really not a special fan of Carrie Hope Fletcher, but found myself perhaps her main defender on here - regarding her work ethic, vocal training, company-leading skills etc. I admired her efforts in all those areas, and in all the other strings to her bow. Subsequent to 'Cinderella' I thought she was superb in 'The Caucasian Chalk Circle' at the Rose Theatre, Kingston. I'd never been to that venue, and hadn't seen a Brecht for while, but she was what attracted me to make the effort. Strangely enough, her character in that had the most fast talking, wry/sardonic, and convoluted/feisty dialogue. So 'Cinderella' was rather good training for it.
Now, late in the day, I will rescind a whole bunch of my support for her back then. Regrettably, I thought she was better than this - but on Twitter 'liking' this tweet by someone else is terrible judgement; as someone commented in a tweet response, they'd hope she absolutely would NOT savour other people getting slated or losing their jobs on Broadway. The original tweet that CHF 'liked' was tweeted on 24th March, the day after Lloyd Webber made a video thanking people for the good wishes to his son who had been moved into a hospice. Perhaps CHF didn't know or see that, (fair enough, she's not a news agency) but it just shows how an unwise moment on social media can come to look even worse just 24hrs later.
This was the 'liked' tweet:
"I hope @carriehfletcher is having a delightful cuppa tea right now - and a very big laugh".
My interest in defending or watching CHF just ended.

Unfortunately, just the latest in a long line of online scrapes that CHF has got herself in to. I will say no more

Here’s the tweet. She would’ve absolutely been aware of the timing of the tweet as we’d all read about Andrew’s son going into a hospice. She also posted a condolence message when he died so maybe that would’ve been the time to remove the like? Andrew’s son aside, I get she says she had a hard time on Cinderella but whatever her beef with Lloyd Webber to ‘laugh’ with the original tweet about the reviews is low. Bad reviews mean only one thing, early closure. That’ll be a couple hundred people out of work then.

Just another in a long line of Carrie inappropriate behaviour or tantrums. Long pattern of behaviour over the years that I think now is getting more obvious and known.

CHF gave my youngest daughter a lovely wave and smile at both Cinderella and Les Mis in Concert. (Just want to add a bit of balance - she's human and probably has good days and bad days.)
Be kind.

I feel Miss Fletcher should take a leaf out of the ‘be kind’ playbook. Good days or bad, should the previous Cinderella actress be gloating over a Broadway production receiving poor reviews. This will have a big impact on the production. I know you are a big fan and have previously defended her poor online behaviour but surely you can see this is not ‘being kind’ to people she has probably never met?

To describe me as a "big fan" is utterly absurd. I've only ever seen CHF in Cinderella and Les Mis. I know that she writes books, acts and sings, and is very active on social media. She also has a brother who was in a band and married to a lady who appeared on the jungle programme. That literally is my sum knowledge of her. Furthermore, how on earth can you say "I know you are a big fan" when you have absolutely no idea who I am? Stay grounded, for heaven's sake.

As I said, you have no idea who I am and therefore to read so much in to so little is a high risk assumption on your part. I don't really care a jot for CHF, but was mereluy counterbalancing the snidey comments above with my experience, which was an act of kindness (twice) towards a young impressionable girl. I certainly won't be silenced for disagreeing or offering an alternative perspective.

She also didn't use 'be kind' when she went after a fan of hers on Instagram when she posted something Carrie took offence to, and also set all her fans on to her. Carrie's 100s of thousands of followers vs one young impressionable girl with fan account of a hundred or so followers. Not exactly fair, equal or kind.

Bad day accepted - we can all have many of them after all! I don't like to see anybody gloating over poor reviews or another show's demise, and it's not a good look if this was the case. However, my own experience (albeit fleeting at the curtain call) suggested there's a good heart somewhere in there.

I think this entire conversation started from one tweet and an ex Cinderella’s snidey reaction. A smile and a wave is lovely but doesn’t cancel out laughing at the expense of an entire cast, crew and musicians who may shortly lose their jobs.

Well, I'm not aware of this (as I'm really not a fan in any way or form). My "be kind" comment was a general shout to folk on this forum, not an affirmative statement of CHF's own personal interactions. I'm sure one of her many acolytes can do a better job defending her than me - I was simply adding an alternative view to the above.

Oh of course and that's completely fair. It's just this forum so often calls out peoples behaviour and posters refuse to see a production because of X or Y is linked to it. I've never understood how CHF gets such a pass (in general, not aimed at you)

Does she get a pass? She’s slated all the time for something or other. I remember seeing people bitching about her online, saying how lazy she is while she was in the middle of training for the London Marathon.

Does she get a pass? She’s slated all the time for something or other. Not if there’s evidence online of her being mean to fans or wishing ill will on another production. It’s not like posters are making stuff up about her online persona. The receipts are there for all to see 🤔 The only person with the power to change opinions is CHF herself. Maybe for her to think before she posts? With the death of his son and the slew of bad reviews her timing on liking that tweet is unfortunate at best.
