Still great - first seen in September and again now. Perfect for this space, catchy songs, hugely talented cast and jokes, as well as pathos, 5 stars again.

I’m so grateful to this board for bringing this show to my attention - I’m sure I would have missed it otherwise.
Definitely lived up to the hype! I had a huge smile on my face from start to finish, even in the parts where I was mopping tears off my cheeks (Dear Bill is one of the best musical performances I’ve seen in quite a while! I was in bits by the end!)
Looks like it’s totally sold out now for the rest of this run. This show deserves success - transfer please! I could definitely see this in the Criterion or somewhere similar. I am desperate to take all my friends to see it already! And I also need a cast recording ASAP!

Looks to be completely sold out now. Tip for those who are wanting to catch it. Email the box office to be put on the reserve list and they’ll contact you if any tickets become available. I did it yesterday for today’s matinee and got a call within an hour with a ticket. Looking forward to it!

Mad respect to the cast for keeping this open. One of them should definitely be resting their voice and I worry they're only making it worse/hurting themself to sing with it, but they don't have understudies so it's this or cancel. Considering they can't exactly rebook people, I can see why they're reluctant to close it down for even a day.

Saw this, also really enjoyed it. Even got a bit teary in 'Dear Bill'. Great fun and I hope they do get a chance of a future life for it.
Re understudies, it would be a hell of a job covering any of these roles let alone more than one of them!

This thread is the first I’ve heard of their PAYG scheme and it almost sounds like a deal too good to be true! You can see 5 shows for only £60! That’s such great value for money. How does it work when it comes to booking tickets, do you get emailed a certain code or something that you need to submit at the checkout? Or does it only work over the phone? It really is brilliant. Just pay for the package and it allocates it to your account. Then when you book a seat for a show, when you get to the payment page it asks you if you want to use one of your credits, and if so you just pay nothing and it reduces your credit balance. Nice and easy 😁 I've been using it for years at this point, and it is just as good as it seems! I usually only see the musicals they put on, and looking at my account history I bought the PAYG scheme for the first time in August 2017 and used my last credit in September 2019, with never a problem. I'm currently halfway through my second PAYG subscription.

I don't know if they've been there from the beginning, but Avalon are involved, aren't they?

The only theatre that is available that would suit OMM is the Criterion although Nimax's new theatre would be great although I have no idea when that's opening.

Tweet from the Playhouse:
Hey folks, we are incredibly sorry to have to let you know that due to cast illness, we’ve had to cancel tonight’s performance of Operation Mincemeat.
Ticket holders have been contacted and we are hopeful no other performances will be affected. 2:20 PM · Feb 9, 2022·Twitter for iPhone

One of the cast has had virtually no voice since the start of this run, and with only one day off and no understudies' there have been days where it just isn't there for them...
Sorry to those who were booked for tonight.

I thought they were sounding a little better when I saw it Monday, but I guess without proper vocal rest, it's not exactly linear recovery. And they were still singing the slightly adjusted version of things that I assume is in place because it's easier to get through without full access to your vocal chords.

I went to see this again this week and loved it even more. What an amazing piece of theatre?
It seemed slightly different to how I remembered it in the autumn. Anyone know if changes occurred? Please and ta.

Please and ta. That would depend when you saw it. It hasn't changed this run very much, beyond a couple of tweaks to dialogue. But during the last run, some bigger changes were made, including to song lyrics. It's also possible they just screwed up :') The final night, as seems to be tradition with closing performances of this production' featured more than a few mishaps and adlibs. Other performances frequently go the same way. It's part of the charm.

Please and ta. I saw it last autumn and again on this run. I loved it both times - there seemed to be some subtle changes but I reckon 95% of it was the same. Can’t think of any new songs, maybe slightly different lyrics here and there. In the end, I was just happy to be entertained, and certainly felt it was slicker in January.

From twitter it seems like there might be news soon to be incoming for this show! Hoping for another run, but could potentially be something more cast album related as I know a lot of people have been asking for that.

I saw this show three times and I went from enjoying it the first time as I enjoy almost everything to really loving it by the third and wanting to see it again and again.
The small cast gel together so well and it's funny, it's moving and it's got some great songs. Musical theatre near-perfection IMHO.
