I have heard so many good comments that I went ahead and booked for a random day in summer. I look forward to seeing it..

With those reviews, this will definitely have an extended run, unless something else is schedule to come in already....

I’m waiting to see if the reviews will boost ticket sales, but the more expensive days weds-sat are still reaaaaaally struggling. I know Avalon producers are now reading this thread and a lot of feedback has been given and received, so fingers crossed it picks up.

If they are reading this, they really need to sort out their pricing model. It is totally wrong for this show which deserves to have a long and healthy run.

Yeah, a new musical is not one where you should try to re-invent the wheel with pricing. An established ‘brand’ could maybe take it, but this risks being a wholly avoidable death knell for a show that deserves to run and run and run.

I would keep the Stalls and Dress Circle prices as they are and have all seats in the Upper Circle at £20 or £25 for every performance. That way the fans can get in cheaply and the upper is always full.

I've recommended this to so many people and at least half hear the minimum price and then won't buy a ticket. Those that can find the money have loved it. They really are shooting themselves in the foot at a time when they need word of mouth to spread.

Guardian 4 Stars “irrepressible wartime musical is a West End triumph” Telegraph 4 Stars “a Pythonesque wartime romp that doesn’t short-change the intellect” The Times 4 Stars “a gloriously inventive wartime romp” The Stage 5 Stars “ Brilliant thriller, brilliant comedy, brilliant musical”
They have pull quotes for days! They must be very happy with all these.

People are just not going to pay 70 or 80 quid to sit in the Upper Circle, especially at the back. A two minute click of the ATG website reveals that the Upper Circle seats are not selling at all from Thursday - Saturday, and little wonder. They need to change this fast and offer a range of prices for all performances.

I saw it for the first time last Tuesday & would like to see it again fairly soon but with the pricing structure I'm only prepared to pay Monday or Tuesday prices and over the next few weeks I can't fit that into what I already have booked. I imagine there must be quite a few people who can't conveniently go on Monday or Tuesday & can't justify paying the prices for later in the week who therefore aren't seeing it.

If they do change the pricing structure, how long will it take to be put into effect? Also the cast recording is beautiful, perfectly captures the energy and emotion of the show and hopefully it'll bring it to a whole new audience.

I've yet to see it (booked for the end of June) but listening to the cast recording today I know that I am going to enjoy this. The songs and different styles of music are great.

If they do change the pricing structure, how long will it take to be put into effect? It could be done pretty much immediately if producers agree to do it.

Alas, we only can go on a Friday or Saturday night, so, relunctantly, booked for a Friday evening on our upcoming trip. And then learned that the GBP has gotten strong so got hit a little harder on the exchange rate than anticpated!

I listened to the cast recording on repeat yesterday, it is brilliant and reminded me just how much I loved the show. I've been raving about it to everyone. I really want to go back and see it, but I can only go on Saturdays so with the current prices I can't justify it at the moment given only saw it recently.

I saw this for the first time about a month ago, fell in love with it and rebooked to see it 2 weeks later (still in previews), have since rebooked 2 more upcoming visits and hoping to get in a few more too - lucky enough to live in London so I can make use of the cheaper Monday/Tuesday tickets (although I have booked to take some family on a weekend so had to combine all of our saved theatre tokens to get the £80 seats for £40 each instead!). Agree that the pricing structure is very weird and I wish they would reduce the weekend rates to make sure everyone who doesn't live in London can see it!
After my second visit I actually ended up next to one of the producers on the way home, and had a really great chat with her about how much I loved the show and how well the word of mouth reviews were working. She said the finances are pretty tight and they're really hoping it'll take off but it's not a sure thing yet - even more reason to change the pricing strategy!
Overall I am absolutely in love with this show, love the soundtrack, adore the cast, REALLY hoping it sticks around for a long time. 5/5 stars from me!

Sat in Row B of the dress circle last night. A brilliant view and would highly recommend to anyone weighing up where to buy tickets.
Saw the main cast and it was as brilliant as my previous five times seeing the show. Not quite the same audience energy as the first preview but still pretty electric.
I feel like I’m now ready to see an understudy as part of the line-up though and am especially intrigued to see Holly Sumptom’s Monty. It really is win-win though as the core cast are so bloody exceptional.
Treated myself to some merch (CD, t-shirt and souvenir brochure). Sadly they were out of whole-arsed notebooks - one for next time, I think.
And on the subject of next time, I was delighted to find I had won the ticket lottery and have just booked a pair of dress circle seats (Row A this time, so totally unobstructed) for three weeks time.
Five stars. More if I could give it. I adore this show. It’s certainly whole-arsed.
