This feels like an unnecessarily abrasive reply to a very fair question. I'm fed up with the depressing tone and lack of optimism on this board. There is no point in even asking the question as four months is an eternity in the present circumstances where everything is changing by the day. Life is depressing enough as it is, can't we just hope for the best rather than focusing on the worst case scenario? Sorry you feel this way posterj. I agree with you that I do hope that this show goes ahead, but I don’t agree with you that we shouldn’t discuss the fairly-sized possibility that it doesn’t. Unfortunately restrictions are not lifted at the same rate as which they’re imposed. A limited-run show of this size postponing for a third time would be the canary in the coal mine and pretty big news - both for everybody involved but for ticket holders too.

This is a discussion board and talking about the very real possibility of this not going ahead is part and parcel of it. That said I do wonder if they'll go ahead with a socially distanced, masked up audience instead of postponing again?

I would have thought this was the obvious solution, however weren’t all the seats already sold as a non socially distanced audience? Meaning that some ticket-holders will be told that their seat has been removed from the auditorium. Perhaps there is an easier solution though.

Perhaps they can extend the run and spread the seats out that way?

Well I thought the performance on BGT was sensational. Colourful, fun, sharp choreography, dynamic, fun and full of energy. Incredibly uplifting.
They had the whole of the auditorium up on their feet.
Michael Ball has publicly on many an occasion that Hairspray was the most fun show he's ever been in.
I hope for their sake that the run goes off smoothly.

I do love how Michael rarely plays his own music on his radio show...really respect his integrity on this.

What else do you WANT? My phone number, address, video proof, producers details and a cake? Jeezzzzzz

Jeezzzzzz Well, My a recent source directly from the mouth of Andrew Lloyd Webber - he's pushing ahead and plans to open Cinderella in April... Del Mac has majority of shows on sale from May. We really don't know what kind of situation we will be in by the spring, but businesses are more ready to jump in and go again this time. Yes, I would like cake.

Have I missed the announcement of the new date for Hairspray? My ticket was moved from original date to April 2021 (which, of course, isnt happening). I haven't heard anything from the company I bought the ticket from but on the 26th Feb got an e mail from ENO saying
"We will update all ticket holders as soon as possible, and as an early booker of Hairspray you will be given priority. We really appreciate your patience – please bear with us and we will be in touch as soon as we can"
However yesterday I got an e mail from Today Tix advertising several shows including Hairspray and when you click onto the link takes you to booking page for dates from 18th May and tickets on sale. All very confusing as I haven't received anything about 18th May start date and, if its true, what happened to the priority booking? Bit of a mess all round.
And I clicked on a random date in May to see what availability was like. Top price stalls £202. Really!!!!!!

I'm (re-)booked for mid-June, when social distancing will still be in place ... heard nothing yet, but early days I suppose.

Anyone heard anything more? I was re-booked for end April so was expecting priority booking as per the ENO email of 26 Feb, but it seems public booking is open and the tickets on my account still say April with no option to amend.

No. Nothing since e mail from ENO saying would be in contact and will have priority booking. But seats have been in public sale for a while now so no idea what's going on.

They should be in contact within the next week apparently.
Direct quote from my live chat with them
"We have taken affected dates off sale but are not able to suspend booking for the entirety of the rest of the run. There is plenty of availablity at the moment for exchanges, and affected ticketholders will be given priority on seats"

If that's the case I have a feeling I'll be double booked which is mad considering how few shows I have this year. But i was booked for 1st Friday in the run so if they move me to the same it will be the day I'm at Come From Away.

I think I’ll be double booked too if they move them (though then I feel what I’m double booked with will fall!)

I've had so many shows rebooked I forget which ones just moved me and which I could choose a new date.
