Just watched on Dancing on Ice, lovely performance. I thought I spotted Adam Pearce and Debbie Kurup.
Just checked the cast on the website, and much to my surprise they're appearing!! As is Gary Wilmot!! Did I miss this or had it previously been announced? 3 great musical names!!

Going on Feb 12th. I think the last time I was in the Dominion was Notre Dame De Paris nearly 20 years ago.

Why do we think this isn't selling better? Surely it's a strong title and creative team. Is it a strong title? Maybe i'm too old for it, but it's not a film that i really remember much from at the time. Maybe it made a bigger impression on younger folks, like Mermaid, Aladdin and BATB did on me. |

Biggest reasons are - it is in an enormous theatre, with no famous names, and it is not an instantly recognisable title.

It's a known title but it's not comparable to disney movies or shrek. I'm not sure people who know and like it are necessarily engaged enough with it to pay £80 a ticket to see it.
Plus the religious aspect may put some off.
Personally I like the movie and love the songs. I definitely want to see it but I need to know more first. I especially want to know what the sets and staging are like. This show should be epic and not done on the cheap

Well, I’ve convinced myself that this is going to be epic and fabulous and will be the unexpected hit of the year, so I e booked for Feb as I’m passing through London.

Plus the religious aspect may put some off. I am going for the spectacle but it'll be interesting to see how they handle certain aspects of it on stage. I can remember taking my nieces and nephews to the cinema to see it and having to bundle them up and sneak them out of the theatre with their eyes and ears covered when they starting killing off animals and babies all over the place. |

As always, the size of the Dominion makes the online sales charts look far worse than any other theatre's. A half full show there is sold out in the Adelphi, for example. That's a good way of looking at it. It's too big for most shows. It got lucky with WWRY running for so long x x x |

I do think Prince of Egypt will extend past September. It will pick up with reviews, press, etc and it's the perfect show for the holidays when tourists come to London for the festive season. I'd assume it will extend to the beginning of January 2021. It needs to have a little staying power if they want to tour it or bring it to Broadway

It got lucky with WWRY running for so long x x x Except they chose that capacity venue based on what they anticipated to be their numbers for this show- I know the producers are disappointed with the advance, especially after the 12 week point. I suspect this show will struggle, going up against Frozen, which is a pity. |

A sad sign of the times, but no "household" names in a barn like the Dominion just isn't a long term business model in 2020. Also, am aware is based on the film, but I personally had never heard of the film and it wasn't massive like Pretty Woman, Frozen etc etc - another sad sign of the times. Jukebox/blockbuster films/celeb casting remains where the money is at. Have since bought the CD of the film. The main song I think is GOOD, the rest is NICE, but none of it to my taste is AMAZING. Reminded me of my personal feelings to Light In The Piazza - the music played by the large orchestra was lovely when I was at the South Bank. But I'd never reach for the CD. So this show however good, has an uphill battle. And I can't see it extending unless top price reduced to 40 ish becomes the norm, the producers have deep pockets, or nobody wants the Dominion for Xmas (unlikely). That all said, I love a new show, cast purely with West End talent and will deffo be going - repeatedly if it's good. I have high hopes. |

I do intend to see this, but I'm not willing to sit anywhere near the back of the Dominion and am not desperate enough to see it to pay full price for the front, so I'm waiting to see what their day seat policy is.

Think I'm going to try see the first preview of this next week, do you think theres any chance of me grabbing a bargain on the first night pre-show?
Or should I bite the bullet and book now... seems there is enough seats left at the moment!

Just booked for a March matinee and there were lots and lots of seats available..wonder if sales will go up after this starts performances.

Cant wait for some set images to appear, the set for the initial US run was so terrible and barely there when this should be an epic. I hope the make use of the Dominion.
