I have seen three LSMT productions at the Bridewell - they have all been excellent.

Can you buy tickets for this on the door, or do you have to telephone/email in advance? It is a shame there is no online box office.

Saw this at today's matinee.
Excellent production and performances, and extremely well cast within the limitations of having a young cast.
'Grand Hotel' has fared well with recent small-scale productions. Southwark, Guildhall and Mountview have all been excellent.
In comparison, the original London production I feel was less satisfying. The minimalist production (mainly using just chairs) seemed overwhelmed by the Dominion theatre and stage.
By the way, the Bridewell production uses the two act version.
Best to reserve tickets in advance. I hear the final few performances are selling well.

Don't think you'll have a problem getting tickets on the door, but it's always safer to call or email them and reserve. Remember that they only take cash. It's a very nice production with excellent choreography.

Hello fellow Theatreboard posters- this is a question that only someone from this hive can answer. When Grand Hotel played at the Dominion Theatre all those years ago the role of Flemchen was played by DeeLee Lively ( she performed it in the US national tour as well) However a friend of mine here swears that he saw Jane Krakowski perform it here and I'm sure he's mistaken - there's no documentation saying she came over at anytime but maybe possibly Ms Lively got sick and they flew Ms Krakowski over for a week or two? Does this ring a bell with anybody? Many thanks.

Thats not to say Jane didnt come over, but i dont recall hearing about it at the time.

What could I have been thinking?

I have no idea who Miss Lively is, sorry! I loved Grand Hotel. A sleek, classy production that didnt need all the bells and whistles Although a staircase wouldn't have gone amiss! Barry James and Brent Barratt were perfect together.
