Gorka and Graziano have both confirmed on their social media that they won’t be partnered with a celeb this year. Sad for Gorka but it surely must have been his choice. I am over the moon that Graziano doesn't have a partner and Johannes does! On his Instagram he says he is sad at not having a partner so I read that to be it's not his choice otherwise he would be saying he is pleased. |

Strange they moved both of G-Force out but if they were going to do it then they were the likely candidates. Glad for Neil and Johannes but sad for the G-Guys.
Also it is an 8 to 7 male to female celeb split this year and last year it was 7 to 8 male to female so it meant that two guys would have to miss out. The pro line up is now 9 to 9 male to female, last season it was 10-8 male to female.
I wonder if Lubya or the new pro Nancy will miss out on getting a celeb partner?

Graziano seemed a likely candidate as he was one of the weakest choreographers. I really like Gorka, but wasn't his height said to be the issue? He always seemed a nice guy and he did some great dances with Alexandra Burke. I would have much preferred that they had kept Gorka and had Anton step aside, but Anton has his following and I don't know that Gorka does so much.

There are two male pros who have outstayed their welcome. I think they missed a trick by not putting Anton on the judging panel. Obviously they had to replace a woman with a woman but I think perhaps they should retire Bruno soon.
The only males I would absolutely keep are Aljasz and Gorka. I’m yet to find out much about Johannes and am unlikely to without Gorka this year. The rest of the male pros I can either take or leave or actively do without.

Kevin is defending champion, Anton is an original, AJ seems very popular, Giovanni has done very well in the show before and also has a large fan base. Aljaz is married to Janette and is a former winner and Kevin is defending champion. So if you were told to move 2 down then they were the likely ones. |

Shirley replaced Len and Claudia came in as a main presenter to replace Brucie so they could have put Anton onto the panel and had a 3 to 1 male split which is hardly dripping with testosterone from Craig and Bruno. Anton with those two would have been funny and stopped any issue of Motsi being put in a difficult position marking her sister. Motsi has been a judge on the German version of Strictly and also danced on it as well as her competitive career so she is clearly a well qualified judge and brings the average age of the panel down more than Anton would. I haven't seen her on TV but if she is anything like Oti then she'll be a good personality and has excellent credentials. I just don't want the sisters to be put in an awkward situation. |

I was glad Annika wasn't lumbered with Anton, she sounded loads posher than I remembered from treasure hunt, perhaps the helicopter's fault.

If Oti doesn't get a replacement partner then I'm not sure I can be bothered watching at all - I like Alex Scott and Catherine Tyldsley and think Annika Rice will be a hoot, but can't say I'm bothered about the rest of the so-called "celebs"...
Edit: And as I was typing this post they have announced that Kelvin Fletcher is the replacement. Not convinced he'll be any good, but at least Oti has a partner!!!
