I don't know the Made in Chelsea guy, but didn't the BBC have a ban on reality stars, or was that just rumour?

Jamie Laing was very endearing on the celeb Great British Bake-Off so I have hopes for him, despite not being a MiC fan.

I can't even be bothered to think up a biscuit joke about Vicounts.
I need earplugs to drown out the scraping sound. You are not a celebrity because you've been on a reality show. (Unless you are one of the wonderful pro dancers who I will be watching this series for.)
I'm just hoping upon hope that they've gone cheap with this lot because they're splurging out on the final 3 - old Top Gear team perhaps?
Yeah. Right. I'll crawl back in shall I? Wake me up when Gorka does the tango.

Michelle Visage - I hope she doesn't get Anton. She deserves a decent partner who can showcase her rather than turning her into a joke
She is the only name so far to excite me - she has plenty of personality, a love of musical theatre and a bit of a performing background.

If the Anneka Rice rumour is true, she seems like an Anton candidate..

Anneka with Anton would seem a natural pairing but Giovanni with Debbie worked well a couple of years ago and she was twice his age approx. so Anneka could get one of the younger guys. Kevin and Anneka could work IMO.
I'd really love them to throw a curveball and give Anton someone like Saffron. I could also see him getting Vicountess Emma.
The reality show star rule was apparently there when Brucie was on the show as he wasn't keen on people from that genre. I don't know so much that he refused to work with them probably just said he didn't feel they were well known enough or the Producers might have been worried he'd have made fun of them. A peak Brucie would have ripped some of them apart, not sure if he'd have been sharp enough to do it in his 80's though.

This is now getting to the stage where I might find I urgently need to spend the autumn putting my wooden spoons in order. I'm almost a third of the way through a "Terry and June - The Complete Show plus Christmas Episodes" box set. Welcome to borrow them as I think I may be finished before the final month or so... The scripts for Terry and June weren't great but both were wonderful comedy performers. Dame June became a national treasure, Terry sadly has been slightly forgotten but was a big star for over 25 years.

So predictable if they give Anton the 'more mature' woman. But maybe predictable is what makes this the most viewed prod on the BBC.

The fact that Anton has never done the Strictly tours has always counted against him plus he is a real ballroom specialist so maybe isn't such an all rounder as the other male dancers. Hence if he goes out early he can always do his great ballroom pro routines.

The calibre so far it seems like its big brother does strictly! Is it just the UK that seems reality mad! I don't know where this country is going sometimes. Anyone with any real talent seems to be overlooked for a reality person who is famous for the sake of it. Vacuous doesn't really give it justice.

I suppose actors don’t want to tie themselves up for that time in case a job comes along. Sportsmen don’t like to be 'retired' too soon do they? So what are we left with? Tv people who can fit it in around their schedule and wannabes with good agents. But I do think this is a weak bunch so far. But hey, it's the dancing isn’t it?

It's more sensible than predictable, his Latin is worse than a lot of amateur dancers so he would be completely wasted on a younger contestant unless that person was an exceptional ballroom dancer - Katie Derham is the only one who came close and she wasn't really in the "young" category when she did the show.

It was always going to be a bad year for current sportspeople as the Olympics are next year so most won't want to risk getting injured. I find it really hard to believe they couldn't get more interesting actors, musicians and other public figures though.

Yet another one just announced whose name I've forgotten in between seeing it and coming to post on here. I don't know any of them. None. Nada. Are they are trying to alienate their loyal audience and drum up a new one?
Ok, so I appreciate that I won't know the soap actors and millions will. I appreciate that I won't know anyone who has anything to do with sport and millions will. I also appreciate that I often end up liking people I'd never heard of if they make a good dance partnership with their professional dancer (personally, my most important criteria on Strictly.) However, it's just got silly now and I can't be bothered any more.
Terry and June box set is actually looking inviting....

Yet another one just announced whose name I've forgotten in between seeing it and coming to post on here. Alex Scott, former England footballer turned pundit. I was at the recording of the mini-Strictly bit she did for Sport Relief a couple of years ago and she was good, so at least her signing is a decent one. Shame that can't be said for most of the others!

No former popstars unless you count Michelle which is what she isn't known for now. Are Bros the last two contestants?
Alex Scott has long been rumoured but as she often worked on the Saturday Football Programmes I wondered whether she'd get the nod or not. She always seems very likeable personality and has done on camera work so will know that side of the show too, likely very fit, so could be a leading contender.

I just looked on twitter and some folks are very excited by Michelle Visage. Suppose it's one of those, if you know you know situations. I don't know. Is she a drag queen or just associated with them? Brave BBC if she is.

Wasnt Chris Evans telling everyone a few months ago that he was doing it this year?
