It was an unbalanced programme in terms of dance choices. But also a bad programme in terms of the music chosen for those dances (and with some of the singing that went along with them - particularly for Small Town Boy - which is one of my fave songs of all time) We were also unhappy with the music choices. Three generations were watching on my sofa and between us we only liked one song. ( I’m Never happy with the singing which at best is old fashioned wedding singing)

Interesting the BBC just showed a trailer for tonight's results show, featuring the couples in Halloween costume and Tess's voice saying "The first couple in the dance off is..". I thought we were supposed to believes that was all about to happen live!

I didn’t get why we had the White Rabbit and Alice, and the King and Queen of Hearts represented last night. What has Alice in Wonderland got to do with Halloween?

This isn't the first time they've just had someone dressing up in a costume for a Halloween dance. I mean these days Halloween costumes aren't just ghouls, ghosts and the like.

One thought crossed my mind regarding Will, it's the Paralympics next summer when he'll likely be a leading contender again so if he has this knee issue he may be very reluctant to jeopardize his chances there. Factor in his existing condition and all the operations he had on his feet when he was young so he may just feel that the risk of damaging his medal chances isn't worth rushing to return to Strictly.
Hopefully this isn't the case but I think if he has to put his sport first then no-one should criticize him.

They had Mike and Katya on Take 2 just now saying how the dance off was best that had done it blah deblah, justification for actually being not so good, looking ridiculous and still being in.

Is it that much of a shock that they kept Mike and Katya given their dance got more points in the first place.
I mean what value to the BBC get from keeping in someone not popular enough to avoid the dance off more than once.

Did you see the headline “Catherine Tyldsley Lashes Out At Strictly Judges”?
turns out that “lashing out” means liking a sympathetic tweet by Hayley Tamaddon on Twitter. 😆

BurlyBeaR - a perfect example of how crazy social media is. Some folks trawl through people's likes trying to discern some hidden agenda. If you are like me on twitter, probably a third of your likes are accidents when scrolling!

Just been confirmed that Will sadly has to withdraw completely. No word yet on what they'll do about eliminations going forward.

I'm going to miss him. A joy to watch every week. At least he got to do his contemporary dance while he was still in the show. They should bring him back for one of the one off specials.

Ah such a shame for Will. He was definitely one of the most interesting to watch. I think they should just have 3 in the final, there’s no need for 4 couples.

Not longer - 90 seconds is standard competition length (though they should cut the faffing around at the start and end), but more dances would be good - the finalists should have to have danced all the dances by the time the competition ends!

Fave ever Halloween routine. Bad wigs, glasses, knee high socks and Anton being a total ham.

Yes I agree. It would be lovely to see the finalists back journey so to speak in a programme before the final.

Neil won’t be performing again tomorrow so Alex will be dancing with Kevin.
BBC have confirmed it will be 3 in the final.

Much as it pains me to say it, I agree with James Jordan.
Kevin had his chance this series - so it should have been one of the unpartnered professionals who stepped in. Gorka would have been a perfectly good partner for Alex.

For all we know, Gorka may have had a more prominent role in the pro routines which would've been filmed on the Saturday afternoon, so maybe it was easier for Kevin to step in if his role was smaller. We don't know. Not everything is a conspiracy! 😀

I don’t really mind an eliminated pro stepping in as a last minute replacement. However if Neil had to pull out for good, I don’t think that would be fair and it should be one of the ‘spare’ pros to come in.
