I’ll be curious to see which theatre it goes to because I don’t think anything is available until January or February at the earliest.

Couldn't it go to a pop up location (how In The Heights did?)
Or perhaps The Arts Theatre? Or is that too low rent?

Yes - you are probably right. With Strictly perhaps closing in October, could it take the Piccadilly?

The Piccadilly would be way too big for this.
Oddly enough the Bridge theatre, would be perfect for this, if it was to receive a musical, other than that any theatre under a 1000 seats, it wouldn't be a long runner.

I suspect Hytner and Starr aren't interested in taking transfers from other theatres at the moment for The Bridge. Playhouse after Caroline... maybe. Playhouse could work, it has decent capacity but intimate enough for a show like Fun Home

As long as this show keeps to a tiny theatre if and when it transfers, I'll be happy. Its extremely intimate and would be completely lost in even some of the 'small' West End theatres.
The Fortune Theatre would be a great venue but obviously The Woman In Black will run forever, deservedly so.

Has anyone else read the book? I found it to be a pretentious pile of tosh with big words and literary references scattered throughout which makes you feel the author is showing off.
Thankfully in the musical Alison comes off as a rather nice person but if I met her in real life ...

The issue with that is the set is too big for a lot of the smaller houses in the West End. If it does come in, it will have to go somewhere medium sized, with the same sort of capacity, audience wise, as it had when it played Circle In The Square.

True, I completely forgot about the extra bit of the set that appears nearer the end.

I liked what she meant to do by setting up that connection with literature and psychoanalysis, but it became a bit too much for me after a while.

I guess they could do the set reveal differently in another theatre though? eg if they were able to move the living room set in from the sides or above, rather than revealing it at the back

Very much enjoyed this tonight despite mixed reviews from friends who love the book.
Powerful and moving. Much more so than when I saw it on Broadway.
Had a great front row seat so could see a lot of the detail of the staging.
It’s popular. There was a queue for returns and I don’t think many Lucky Dips managed to get a seat. I think it could easily transfer and could work on a different shape stage (there is a lot of unused space, as well as sides kept clear for the band).
All the cast were excellent, but Zubin Varla really stood out for me.
Only aspect I didn’t like was people laughing at really unfortunate times, but I think they just thought the whole thing was a fictitious comedy. Otherwise, an appreciative audience.

Saw this tonight! Went in blind knowing nothing but the name and found it very enjoyable.
Eleanor Kane impressed with her vocals, 'Changing My Major' was a hoot!

Wouldn’t this be perfect for another pop up at the Marble Arch Theatre?

At the show now and they sold out of programmes. Anyone care to sell if they have an extra?
