I'm going from the 10th-16th this year, though tempted to add a couple of days. Pleasance line up looks strong this year, looking forward to summerhall and traverse announcements

Pleasance line up looks strong this year, looking forward to summerhall and traverse announcements In recent years I've taken to setting aside one day entirely for Summerhall. I absolutely love that place. The Traverse always has interesting stuff going on. As does Pleasance, but I've grown much less keen on it as a venue and generally tend to avoid the Big Four. I might now see one Pleasance show per Fringe.

Those tiny huts to the side, Pleasance This and That, I've seen some of my favourite ever shows. Briony Redman's new hour of character comedy every year is always an utter delight, as is the comedian Rosie Jones. Plus just hanging around Pleasence I've met so many comics and actors.

One of my favourite coffee haunts in town is Castello, on Castle Street off Princes Street. It doesn’t look like much but damn they serve up a good cup of coffee.

Yes Castello is great, I agree uninspiring to look at but possibly the best coffee in Edinburgh. Wellington, and Papii, both on Hanover, are good as is Kilimanjaro on Nicholson (Southside). Project Coffee in Bruntsfield (a lovely district) is very good. I'm always keen to hear of others.

I’m making my first trip to the fringe festival this year and based on what is offered at present I have decided on what I want to see but that could change if there are shows still to be added! Quite a mixture of theatre and comedy for me which I love! I can’t wait!!

Whats been announced so far is probably 20-30% of the total line up across the month. Far more to come yet!

Lowdown on St Georges and Cult up near the Meadows towards Summerhall were my two favorite finds last year.

The Brew Lab beside Old College on South Bridge has been my favourite coffee shop in Edinburgh for years now, ever since I lived there!

I’m hoping that outside my show, I’ll be able to catch a few shows, but I’m particularly interested in Friendsical and Notflix, among other things.

I knew it wouldn't be long before a production of Spring Awakening was announced. This one is by Car Crash Productions who in previous years have unfortunately lived up to their name.

Yes, having booked 8 shows so far I need to start my Fringe schedule grid thing. Oh man, I already can't wait. Biggest buzz of anticipation for me is the Summerhall programme.

Super excited to see 'Electrolyte' return this year. It bowled me over last year, as it did for many, taking away a number of awards. Highly recommended.

The tickets for my show have gone on sale, but I'm not sure what the rules are about advertising/posting the link on here.

When do we expect the full line up of shows to be announced? Made some plans about shows I want to see but dont want to book too much and then miss out on something incredible. Currently the only thing I have definitely booked a ticket for is Lost Voice guy on my first evening as I think he’s hilarious. Going Friday to Sunday towards the end of the festival
