I don't remember the last time so many of us felt so gutted about a closing. At least we're not alone!

Now this has finished in London, any plans for it touring the uk ? Yes, at the earliest will be late 2020. The cast have been told there will be a tour of the UK but no word on dates, venues, timescales or anything so it's kinda ambiguous at the moment. Although, if the producers needed any confirmation of the shows popularity, they got it on Saturday night.

The casting directors got it spot on this time.
I don't envy them in finding a new group of people who are going to match up to that lot.

One thing I have said to make myself feel better, and I said it on closing night to some of the fans, the nice thing about it closing now as opposed to another year is we would of likely lost Clare as Peggy, which would of been a real loss to the show.

I will be gutted to even see this thread fall further and further down the page and eventually end up on page 2 3 etc. So in order to delay the inevitable I have bumped the thread to the top!

For example, whilst Bonnie sings I Only Have Eyes For You, take a glance at the door to the club set as the Ensemble leave, you'll see Peggy and Pat exit with a couple each rather than run off when they leave the scene. Also, after Plenty of Money, Peggy would run off stage and leap into someone's arms and be carried off stage from the wings because she can barely stand following the dance number.

Random crap. Let's see...
Tom Lister's spittle was a star of the show in and of itself!! ๐

and who could forget Stuart's sweat flying everywhere! Poor Clare really did get showered from all angles! โบ
Speaking of Stuart, I saw him in The Producers in Manchester last week and he was incredible. A good few bits of dancing in there too. I would really recommend it for anyone mourning the loss of this show. It runs til the first week of February.

Oooooh I have fun fact. I only found out recently, but I saw Stuart Neal as Pippin in Lord of the Rings, which coincidentally was in the Drury Lane and was my first ever West End musical.

Did anyone notice and does anyone know why at the start of "We're in the Money" as they were dressed as street kids looking for the Dime, all wore flat shoes except Peggy who always wore High heeled boots?

I did notice, and noticed what Daniel mentioned too. I think it's got to be a height thing because when Hannah was Peggy she didn't wear high heeled boots. Unfortunately I can't remember if Gaby did or not.

We must give thanks to the theatre gods that this was filmed!!
Actually, this is just a blatant attempt to keep this thread high on the musicals page!

Hence Clare wearing a bonnet but the other three wearing various caps.

We've probably discussed this before (didn't want to trail back through 268 pages!) but in the interest of keeping the thread going - why was this show so special? For me it was because the first time I saw it was like a happy dream - someone had taken all the very best bits of the old musicals and put them on a huge stage. It was such an explosion of light and colour and the dancing was amazing. I also couldn't believe the slickness, the stage was empty, full, empty, full as if by magic. My cheeks were hurting by the interval because I was smiling so much. One of my best nights ever in the theatre so I just couldn't resist going back.

I guess it's a costume change thing because Clare doesn't appear in Were in the Money past the start whereas the other three ladies all do appear?

I never saw Hannah-Faith Marram, but when I saw Gabrielle Lewis Dodson she wore flats boots.
