I was in A1 and thought there was plenty of leg room because it is slightly angled. Wouldn't want to sit in A0 though (luckily neither did anyone else so plenty of room for my bag!).
View is excellent considering, especially of those gorgeous costumes.

I'm in A1 tonight. Hoped A0 wouldn't have sold as a solo seat but it has. Am now hoping for a good looking guy with long legs who wants to wrap them around mine ...............................................

It was good but not as good as last week's Half a Sixpence. They got a standing ovation. 42nd Street didn't.

I managed to see this show last Saturday afternoon. It truly is a spectacular production but I wouldn't say I'm in any hurry to return. The weakest element of the show is it's book. One part that really didn't work for me was how Peggy was fired by Julian for hurting their star Dorothy Brock. However straight after the interval you have Julian begging for Peggy to come back like she hadn't caused all these problems for their production. It felt very off to me.
That being said it is a fantastic show with amazing sets, costumes and dance sequences and the audience were loving it. I really enjoyed the opening to Act 2 with the ensemble in their dressing rooms. It really put a smile on my face. In fact I felt that Act 2 was a lot stronger than Act 1 in general especially with that incredible staircase sequence at the end.
To be honest I didn't really care about this show when they first announced it but I'm glad that they have made a worthy production for the Theatre Royal Drury Lane.

I've booked A1 for next month. Last time I sat on the other side of the stalls, so it will be good to see it from the other side.

I wonder if they will do a London cast recording? It's criminal not to have a more recent recording available, now that the Broadway revival is discontinued.

True nuff, I got "Lorraine"' (Ella Martine)'s Aunty sitting in A0. Very nice lady although when she said "do you think they'd mind if I took some photos without flash" I whimpered a bit. I'm hoping I said "No, they'll jump all over you", but it may have been "No, I'll jump all over you". Show is utterly spectacular visually and vocally. I saw it first on the Thursday before Easter, no standing o at the end, but there was sporadic standing o's last night at the end, then after that very last curtain call full standing o. Sheena's replacement is excellent - really don't think you miss anything with Sheena being off. Why Clare Halse as Peggy doesn't get the final curtain call I just don't know, she works her bloody feet off. Stuart Neal as Billy Lawlor looks like he's wearing the costume of someone much taller than he is ... Costumes are delightful (except that weird flower thing). Lots of fun and I'm already booked to see it again in the summer (from the other side of the A's £15 seats). A1 is absolutely fabulous. Lorraine's Aunty said she was OK in A0, but then I did shift my legs a bit so she could stretch over. |

Very nice lady although when she said "do you think they'd mind if I took some photos without flash" I whimpered a bit. At least she was aware of the disruptiveness of flash. Some people seem to think it's a magical light that is visible only to the camera. |

We're in London for the Proms in the Park in September for a few days. Would you recommend booking well in advance for 42nd Street? We're hoping to get as many shows in as possible over four days but the budget won't stretch to top price seats, so any tips on best views for cheap prices would be very welcome.

Half a Sixpence was received better on the Palladium show. Wow. I pointed out that on the Palladium shows Half a Sixpence got a standing ovation. I've seen both and both are good shows. Half a Sixpence has a plot and good performances. 42nd Street has no plot to speak of, has lot of shouting in dreadful American accents, none of the character are particularly likeable enough to care about but the dancing, costumes for the dancing and set for the dancing is excellent. |

I most definitely read the comment as a light hearted joke, seems obvious to me. Perhaps a sense of humour should be banned on this forum? I already find at times that I hold back on hear for fear of upsetting people. I think in places like this where you can enjoy a multitude of opinions there will always be clashes of character. You get to know the style in which regulars post and there's no real way of conveying tone of voice or body language. Once again I'm thinking this place isn't for me |

It's one thing for someone to say that to a forum regular but palace only has 12 posts and immediately being told to leave by two members is not the most welcoming environment, jokily or otherwise in my opinion. This is clear as palace has confirmed that they did take the posts seriously. All forums have different atmospheres, different levels of seriousness used etc. (just look at the difference between here and BroadwayWorld) and it will take a while for new users to get used to this forum.

Perhaps the posters don't use those and maybe you are more familiar with posting styles of MrB and WEW. As for holding back, you should consider new users who might feel intimidated and not want to express an unpopular opinion. I'm now determined not going to fall into that category and hold my own. Also I have forgiven MrB and WEW - for now!   Don't think this isn't the place for you though. |

General consensus is the £15 seats in row A are a steal if you can deal with restricted leg room and not being central - there are two on each end of the row. |
