Well I just teared up reading all your posts about the final performances. I do love the fandom for this show. I hope you all have a wonderful time.

After today I'm going to read this entire thread back.
From a show none of us were excited about to perhaps one of the most unexpected hits.
A show I never thought I'd see to one I have probably seen twenty times.
I wish I had seen it more, I've just fallen in love with it and this incredible cast.
I even sent Clare a thank you card this week. I never feel the need to do that but.... Clare!

Did anyone get one of the 42nd Street badges they used to give out at the start of the run? Think I'll wear mine tonight.

And in the merch stall in the main foyer Ah I didn't realise, I thought it was just at the beginning of the run. Nice to know a show is giving something for nothing.

I personally wasn’t the biggest fan of the show but I’m glad it brought many many people so much happiness and I hope everyone going tonight has a great time!

I'm up in Manchester but can feel the excitement for day even up here. I wish I could have seen the show again. Yep, we were all so indifferent to it at the start, then the moment the staircase appeared, things changed. Digressing a bit, that huge open staircase with no handrails must be a health and safety nightmare....has anyone taken a tumble on it?

I was chatting to a fan last night, he's seen it twice before where Ensemble members have tumbled, and I remember a story where Clare tripped too. But he has been well over 100 times so to manage only twice in 100 shows is amazing!

Hope some of you will join me at the front to watch the orchestra play the audience out at the end. This was always one of my favourite bits. One or two of them are quite the showmen. I have no intention of leaving until the orchestra are done! I'm a musician as well (though definitely just an amateur one and not often anymore) so for me listening to the orchestra at the end is just as much fun as watching the show! I can never understand why people - especially those who sit at the front insist on going before the play out has finished. The play out is one of the best bits!

Dayseat line was length of the foyer plus curved around the side. I showed up at 10:05 and accepted I wouldn't get a ticket as I was at the curved bit but held onto hope... then a friend of mine came out of no where, grabbed my hand and said come with me... she was at the front of the line and got me my dayseat for the matinee! 😍 I'm glad you got your ticket but it's a shame it was at the expense of someone else in the line who had no doubt also been hoping to see the show.

Just rang box office they said only seats at £69.50 only few left and middle stalls £129 !!!! Can’t afford that ! Maybe was just to sell tickets ? Who knows but a month back I got row d of stalls for only £15 on the day around 5 pm in person .... I suppose demand is higher as last show ... is it worth the 130 mile drive down to take a chance ?

Well the seating plan will show you there’s practically nothing left. So even the expensive seats aren’t particularly good seats. Someone is selling seats on the Classifieds forum, so that might be an option. Personally, I think that the box office will only have worse seats left by the time you arrive (and they will be at least as expensive). So I’d only travel on spec if you have a back up show in mind.

I’m really glad 42nd Street has been a success, in showing there is a market for this old style shows if they are done very well and to a very high standard. Fingers crossed the producers of this might do another one.

Gutted that I can't get to this tonight now - sadly have been diagnosed with a blood clot and can barely stand let alone get to the theatre! Been trying the theatre number to see if they can sell my ticket on (I know no refunds but would far rather have someone in that seat enjoying the show than it be left empty!) but just find myself on hold for ages so looks like there will be an empty seat after all. Hope all those going have a fabulous time - I'll be with you in spirit

Not necessarily - if Daniel's friend was only planning on getting 1 but could get 2 it doesn't make a difference does it?

Not necessarily - if Daniel's friend was only planning on getting 1 but could get 2 it doesn't make a difference does it? True, but that 1 that otherwise could have been bought by someone else could have gone to someone who got there earlier. I know there was the comment re: problems with trains, but I doubt that would reconcile the person who missed out if they can’t afford a more expensive tickets. Personally, I think the box office should have acknowledged the scope for a busy market today and limited tickets to 1 each.

Many of us have been in the situation of queueing up and having someone jump in. It is a very different feeling if you’re in the queue (some of those people had been waiting for hours) and this happened. On a more positive note, it looks like the people in the queue got tickets and then the box office released the spare seats they’d been holding (which appeared up for sale on the main site). I wonder if anyone will be seeing the show for the first time today? Whatever will they think?
