Seems to be strong mainly 4 star and 5 star reviews from what I’ve seen. 👍Only 3 star I saw was from the Evening Standard I think!
I haven’t see the show in London yet but will def try to in the new year. I can see why it’s beloved by many, but when I saw it in New York it left me a little flat. Maybe it’s because I was expecting so much after all the hype. I don’t think the music was strong enough to overcome for me that I just felt I was being emotionally manipulated the entire time, idk.

^ Sorry,I was talking more about the more extreme fans who try to ‘own’ a show for themselves and often take fandom too far. Also have been reading a lot of responses to the show on twitter etc and the appeal of the themes in the show appears to be a lot more universal than I originally thought it would be.Not just angsty teens connecting with it...interesting.

It's run nearly three years on Broadway, it wouldn't have lasted that long if it only appealed to teenagers.

^Great to see teen shows succeed as crossover hits with the general public.Three years on Broadway is good going even though the Music Box is a smaller venue(around 1000 capacity,I believe)

Is it really possible for teenagers to hijack a show aimed at them? ...but not played by them lol 😆

Just noticed Royal Circle Box is selling for £50 for tonight. I’ve got a stalls row U11 seat. Would I get a better view from the box seat? Might try to call the theatre and see if they’d swap, if it’s worth it?

A lot of the remaining £35 seats dropped further to £27.50 about an hour after I posted. Don't know if that will happen every Thursday matinee. They also have two seats available for tonight in Royal Circle Box C for £35 each if anyone fancies sitting there.

A little more ticket info, (apologies if its already been posted!) but the standing tickets at the back of the stalls are on sale for tonights show now (not sure what time they go up) and they're £15.
Don't know how good the view is, and after looking at TheatreMonkey's seat plans I can't believe the slips in the UC are £5 originally (unless I misread?!)

A few better view slips are more (£12.50 plus £2.50, I believe).

There still seems to be a few sound issues according to various people who’ve been to see it. Thought this would have been sorted by now.

I saw the show this afternoon from the front row of stalls and didn’t notice any issues.

Not sure there is sound issues as such, but it's a very different sound in the venue than to what people will be used to on the cast album.

Saw this evenings show. What a fantastic performance from Sam Tutty. He must be shattered each night after pulling that off. The subtle finger twitches, shoe shuffling, darting eyes was just phenomenal and was carried from start to finish. I would say the rest of the cast took a little while to warm up, but once they got there it was amazing.
I was fairly anxious waiting for You Will Be Found at the end of Act 1 as I haven’t listened to it since it was played at a friends funeral a few months ago. A very poignant song that I’m sure hits home with a lot of people.
The sound was fine this evening, but agree with the previous post about it being different to the cast album - but then again you can’t expect it to be as polished live.
The fan girls were slightly off putting with audible sniffling throughout and over-exaggerated tear wiping noticed in the stalls from the circle box - it’s only going to get worse.
Can’t wait to get back again - a tour soon please too so I can catch it in Bristol as much as possible 🙏🏼.
5 stars from me, but understand it’s not going to be everyone’s cup of tea. Looking forward to &Juliet next for some light relief, because this certainly was not light relief.

Wanted to love this so much, but I found myself just frustrated and ultimately, disappointed.
I think it's largely because I found the character of Evan to be so unlikeable. When he makes the decision to tell the lie, and it snowballs, I just couldn't get on board with it. Sam Tutty is giving a great performance though, there's no denying that.
Rebecca McKinnis is good in the second half but not in the first. The rest of the cast are average at best, apart from Lauren Ward who is giving the best supporting female performance this season and should get an Olivier in recognition of her beautiful portrayal of Cynthia.
I dunno, it all just felt very jarring. When you fundamentally don't like the central protagonist, there's a huge barrier in your enjoyment. I feel giving this 2 stars is unfair, so I'll give it 3. But I thought this would be my new favourite show, and it's one I probably won't return to...

Saw this last night too, thought it was good but not amazing.
Agree with other posters, it is difficult to feel sympathy for Evan except for it all getting too much and not knowing what he should do.
Sam was really good, his voice was great too - none of the issues previously highlighted. The vocals seemed quiet until suddenly in you will be found it was a rock concert - similar happened in act 2 which just felt jarring.
As stated Lauren is brilliant, as is Rebecca as the mothers.
I did feel all cast members had questionable vocal moments, not what I’d necessarily expect from an OLC in a brand new high profile musical.
I only found myself getting emotional during scenes involving the mothers, those were hard. I also didn’t find that pairing Evan with a character like Alana Beck made it all seem like every character was using this incident for their own gain. Didn’t sit right with me.
One thing that particularly frustrated me was the scenic design. The circle ‘coin’ bedroom sets (felt like they’d been used in 42nd street during we’re in the money). The characters walked into them, off of them, around the back of the beds. It felt unnecessary to have them as it offered no real place for the characters.
The walking behind the beds stupidly infuriated me. Either you’re pretending this is a bedroom or it’s not. But the difference in height just felt bizarre to be bounding on and off them during scenes. I hope that criticisms makes sense.
Overall, I’m glad I’ve seen the show, but maybe this show resonates better with American audiences? Who knows.
