If I found the right insta account (@brandonjmar) the video of him singing Waving Through a Window is horrendous!

I know we normally make a point of acknowledging that clips often aren't a true reflection of the quality of a performance but... really? Unless his very cliche, unimaginative, and unconvincing acting magically became world-class when he stepped into the audition room, this surely can't be true. He's hamming it up worse than Luke Bayer and doesn't have half as good a voice...

If this turns out to be official, I'm very glad I didn't book.

that letter does not look real in the slightest
"Throughout this time period you were called in to sing several different numbers from the show, including songs that you were not asked to prepare/was informed on very late notice"
"Your professionalism in your auditions has allowed us to discover your abilities"
"Therefore, we have summarised your auditions and accepted your application"
idk, to me it sounds like something someone has written as a wishful joke.
If it is real- then firstly wow, please let me write your contracts in future. And secondly, how stupid do you have to be to post that on social media before any official announcement?

Yeah, I don’t buy it either. Surely whoever they do cast will have to agree not to say/post anything until the producers make it official?

It reads as if it has been put through Google Translate a few times - it simply can't be anything other than a fake.

Leave the poor boy alone. Sort out those Drag Race eyebrows, stick him in a plaster cast and he'll be fine. Little Benny Platt was selling it to the circle in the theatre across the road every night and won a Tony for his troubles. He's got plenty of time to do a bit more practice. Plus his name has a touch of the cocktail about it which is just fine by me.
Barman! I'll have a large Brandon Mariñas with an extra cherry and an umbrella!

I don't mind the clumsy language in this so-called letter, some incredibly smart and powerful people are terrible written communicators. I do *hope* it's fake though, 'cos if it's real then there's definitely got to be some kind of non-disclosure clause that's just been mightily violated...

wicked I agree. That doesn’t look like an offer letter to me, but then I work in tech and I don’t know what they would usually look like in the theatre. The language reads like something someone would say, not official offer letter/contract language. What’s the usual process for offering a leading role? I would have thought the agent would be told first?

thing is, if it is true, then if he has had a contract, he has breached it and if he hasn't had a contract, they can just get rid of him for pure stupidity.

I would have thought the agent would be told first? I thought that at first, but they did open auditions for this so he may not have an agent.

And why would west end Wilma announce before Dear Evan Hansen official. The Facebook link from Wilma doesn't even Work just a strange error message. I'd have thought something like this would be announced all singing and dancing not just one source. Odd.

It's the kind of show and casting that just screams press release and big deal announcement.

The link doesn't work because of the amount of traffic the site is receiving as a result of the tweet.
