Good shout, I love Debbie! Me too. I'd not seen her in anything before but I thought she was terrific. Great voice, good actress and gorgeous too. I think she'd be be fabulous in a revival of Call Me Madam.

Eurghh no. She’s too jazz hands for this. There wasn't much call for jazz hands in Girl From the North Country and she was fabulous in that.

When people talk about colourblind casting, I wish for once to see a South Asian actor in a role. We have a huge population of South Asians in the country and I just don’t see enough in musical theatre. Only Meera Syal and at a stretch some of the cast of Aladdin have been really prominent anywhere.

I'm here for Debbie Kurup too, I saw her in The Bodyguard a bunch of times, as well as Girl From the North Country and she is always fabulous.

South Asians are a much bigger ethnic group in the UK than people of African, Caribbean or East Asian background. I wonder why they aren't making more impact... (I thought of this whilst watching Everybody's Talking About Jamie)

(I thought of this whilst watching Everybody's Talking About Jamie) There aren't many because there aren't any roles written for them. Everybody Loves Jamie is somewhat revolutionary in its own way for being so inclusive and for writing roles for ethnicities that are normally unrepresented in musical theatre. Aladdin is basically a hodgepodge of everything "ethnic" and non-white. Debbie, despite being so fabulously talented gets away with passing as black and plays roles that are often written for a black woman. The cast of The Band's Visit say it much better than I do: www.buzzfeed.com/louispeitzman/the-bands-visit-middle-eastern-representation?utm_term=.cp2dXvr7y#.xsZkEDxbm

I think that maybe Dianne Pilkington could be Heidi or Cynthia?
(All jokes aside, I really want to play Evan but I’m way too young, and I definitely don’t possess the vocal range required for his big 3 solos)

Hmmmm...I wonder? 🕵🏻♂️ (I hope) Very much doubt it. So, he’s leaving now for a production that hasn’t been announced nor tickets sold? I thought he was making films?

We don’t even know if he’s in England yet. Even if he was, I highly doubt he’d fly all the way over here for a press event or anything along those lines

I doubt BP will be doing a major Broadway role for a while. Just like Hamilton original cast members, I'm sure he has a wealth of opportunities lined up on TV and film, and he also recorded a solo album. I'm sure he'll be doing all these different projects before and building his non-theatre resume for a while before coming back.

Hearing its transfer has been put on hold due to a producer problem? Gutted if so - this was one of the biggest highlights of my year last year. I hope this still happens.

Hearing its transfer has been put on hold due to a producer problem? Producer decided there wasn’t enough Jukebox anthems in it so pulled the cash?

No West End news but 'Deluxe' edition of the Original Cast Recording coming out digitally October 19th, featuring songs from the off-Broadway tryouts, cut songs and new versions from the current cast.

There's an alternative reading of Evan's character that doesn't bode well with its fans, is that Evan is really a horrible, opportunistic liar and not just a victim of circumstance, and despite the damage he creates, all is magically forgiven by the play's conclusion. This has been problem with the show from the very beginning when I first saw it off-broadway. I love the score, the performances, the staging but I felt that the lack of real hurtful consequence to Evan's actions is just plain wrong. That said, 95% of my friends totally disagree with me. IFor what its worth, don't believe color-blind casting will change the show.

Hearing its transfer has been put on hold due to a producer problem? Any more info? Could the hold be more due to the Canadian production wanting to find its feet first?
