Today's show/s cancelled due to theatre "technical difficulties". Oh Dear. Hopefully not the Funny Girl variety. No idea what technical difficulties they could have though; the set is so simple!

No idea but they say they're moving all those from the 5.30 and 8.30 shows today to the two shows tomorrow but "not necessarily in the same seats".
Can't have sold well if that is possible.

I’ll post my (mixed) thoughts on the show tomorrow but Take That showed up for the curtain call at the first night in Cardiff tonight, amazing surprise!

Yep I’m sure you’re right. Looking at the WMC website weekends are sold out but good availability on weekdays. Selfishly I’m glad it hasn’t been selling well if it meant I got to see the real deal!

It had been said for ages via social media that last night's show was going to be a "special show" so it was no surprise they attended.

Ah I haven’t been following the show on social media so it was a surprise to me, I didn’t think they’d bother coming to Wales! I’d say it was a surprise to the majority of people around me too, and other friends I knew were there.

I'd prefer it if it was a complete surprise to everyone.

Needing a boost for ticket sales again most likely I'm not saying there was a lot of papering going on last night (and today) buuuuutttt (I almost wish I'd gone last night. Almost. Though I do call them 'Sad Take That' now as there seems to be one less of them every time they appear)

One of ‘the band’ (who won that BBC show) has been absent since November, with his understudy appearing. Seems a long time to be off with no official word as to why.

Take That excitement aside, I have mixed feelings about the show but mostly liked it. I liked the set and thought it worked really well, and I also really liked the story. There were some funny moments, especially the caretaker/roadie/policeman. However, I think parts of the script were weak. I cry stupidly easily but I didn’t shed a tear at all when the sad event happens in act one, even though I felt at times that the script was trying desperately to tug at heartstrings. The two generations singing Back for Good was lovely however. I think what annoyed me the most was that they always refer to the band as ‘The Band’, and it just didn’t sound natural because in a normal conversation you’d just name the group. I suppose it’s trying to be clever with the link to ‘the (wrist)bands’ the girls/women wear. Also, as someone else mentioned earlier, they aren’t meant to be Take That but their logo is used at times! Overall I did quite like it but I think it could have been so much better.

Both the understudies have been on as several of the boys have been off and Nick was off for a while, but he is back for this leg of the tour.

Wimbledon 23rd-28th October - being advertised as the "only London dates" so I assume there'll be no West End run.
Also had an email from The Lowry, 16-26 January 2019.
Both on pre-sale now and general sale 11th Jan.

Surprised it's coming to the Lowry, didn't think sales were that good when it was in the Opera House.

Well one thing I've learned from their twitter feed today is that fans of the show are called Bandits. *sigh*

I've never heard that term used before, they tend to use the term Fivesters as they are fans of the boys in the band.

It'll be interesting to see if this does come to London following the tour ending (as we currently know) in March 2019. I still must get around to seeing this whilst it in on tour, even though it really doesn't look, on face value alone, that great. How did that past Take That musical do in London?
