Same theatre different day, think Lucie is still off or they haven't taken the sign down I think if Rent tours again/is London revived in the next few years then Lucie will try to do it again because she seems to have missed an awful lot in the later half of the tour. ALSO SHE'S AMAZING

Amazing news from the Rent team tonight:
Thrilled to see this amazing group of people (cast, crew, audience and team in Tunbridge Wells), sending their love to the people affected by the devastating impact in Manchester.

Collection again tonight. Circle was closed and a lot of empty stalls seats yet as a performance it was up several notches from last night. Everyone was on top form. Last night was good but felt rushed at times.

Better late than never... caught this tonight while on a family visit. I'm never quite convinced on this musical as a whole but have to say it was a fun night, Christina Modestou as Maureen and Layton Williams as Angel were particularly brilliant. Sound at the Assembly Hall can often be dodgy but it got particularly murky in loud parts tonight which was a shame. Very enthusiastic audience tonight too!

That's strange, it was murky in places Tuesday but crystal clear Wednesday. Sounds like pot luck what you get

I was there tonight as well. On the whole I enjoyed it but I do have to agree about the sound. Something wasn't quite right. Either the music was too loud or their microphones weren't working properly. It was hard to hear the words a lot of the time.
And yes, the audience were very enthusiastic tonight.

I saw the touring Evita there a couple of years ago and the sound was so badly mixed in one spot that I switched seats after one song to somewhere that it wasn't quite so bad. I've not managed to work out which area is consistently good in there despite years of trying!

Sound was especially bad during Today 4 U when I saw it on Tuesday. You couldn't understand the lyrics for the most part. It got better after that though.

Them drop splits tho!

Same in Nottingham last week. I thought it was because I was sat on the very end of the row, but perhaps not.

What a show this afternoon. The odd 5pm matinee time impacted the audience to "small but mighty" that's how we were described when they announced the collection for Manchester at the end. I was in row b and had much of that row on my side to myself. The numbers didn't impact the show negatively though, Joshua Dever was on as Mark and was great in the role. Lucie was back this afternoon and on brilliant form. Take me or leave me had such intensity. The sound was clear again. It definitely seems to be where you sit though. That was my last chance to see it but I've loved it every single time. The whole cast works so hard and all the key characters wring every bit of emotion out of the piece night after night.

Glad you could see Lucie again! Wish I had seen her. Christina was great tho.
Aaaanyway, I'm in Madrid already, waiting for my train home. What a fabulous week I had in London. Hopefully I'll be able to come back in September/October. Or sooner than that, who knows, I'm a crazy person.

Picking up on the theme of the Wicked thread currently there was much giving of Lush gift sets and hand drawn pictures and cakes at stage door after the matinee.
Oh and Lucie accidentally spat scotch egg over this waiting.

If anyone else is here this afternoon, I'm raised stalls row R far stage right. Currently wearing a pink cardigan over a striped top but I'm sure the cardi will come off once I'm inside.

I agree about him potentially covering up. I think it will come back in 6 months- 1 year at this rate. Also curious as to whether they filmed the show whilst they had an empty stage at Nottingham..

Their FB page was also saying something like 'sign up for more information about Rent in the future' Given it' done so well, bringing it back on tour with a new (ish) cast next year wouldn't be unlikely. Clwyd would certainly be glad of the revenue from it's co-production for a start! I think in a few places they'd be wise to seek out smaller venues though, particularly so soon after. I love it, but it couldn't fill the WMC in terms of audience or staging. It's an utter gem of a production though, so long may it have another life!

They also tweeted the same thing, and the website also has a section where the tour dates for updates.

Yeahhhh if we see this cast all together again in this show it won't be for at least a year. With Ryan in Saigon, Ross is now announced to be leading We Will Rock You on a cruise for a year!
