Is Lucie Jones leaving now that she's our pick for Eurovision glory? Shame if she does as I loved her 'Mooooooooooooooooooooooo' Shes definitely still with the show in Eastbourne this week so I would hope she will stick with it for a while

Couple of things (won't bother quoting numerous people)
1. I'd be livid if anything started an hour late without much explanation. And it's long enough as it is (I'd have probably missed my train home too)
2. As far as I know the whole cast (except possibly now Lucie Jones) are doing the whole tour.
3. Sound was dodgy in places when I saw it, wish they'd sort it out!
4. There's no amendments to the score, because bar a few tweaks here and there the Larson estate have never allowed re-orchestrating, with the exception of Rent: Remixed. And we all know how well that went.
5. Re hating it/Cult favourite. I think it's one of those that if you see it at the right point in your life, something clicks and you love it, and you always love it. I think like many things, you see it at the 'wrong' moment and it never really clicks. To quote one of my favourite lines from Pretty Woman (yes, f**ck off) 'You may learn to appreciate it but it will never become part of your soul'...that line is about opera, but given the Boheme link I'm taking it.
That said a few people on here have said seeing this production 'converted' them, so there's always an exception!

Lucie Jones confirmed on Graham Norton's show that she is still doing Rent but there will be certain performances she will be missing due to Eurovision commitments, but both Eurovision and Rent producers are working together to allow her to do both

It was a pity Layton missed the last few London performances. Hopefully the tour will be a success, still a lot of availability for Eastbourne but tomorrow night and the 2 Saturday performances have picked up a bit

Thoroughly enjoyable act 1. Theyre on fire pity the audience are of a type that dont seem to understand it. Few empty seats too. Not sure about the upper levels

Well I have to say aside from a brief loss on Maureens mic early in act 2 the sound issues were gone. Very loud and crystal clear this evening. Cast wise had full cast on this evening apart from Harrison Clark as Angel and it made a huge difference from Saturdays matinee. It was a typical Eastbourne opening night crowd of pensioners and it showed in the reception it got sadly, hopefully the demographic they get in as the week goes on will improve on that. Every member of the cast was on fine form and having seen this production 3 times now i appreciated the interaction of the characters far better. Lucie Jones was truly amazing tonight, I hope she wont have to miss too much of the tour for Eurovision commitments. My next chance to see it wont be til Tunbridge Wells unless I can fit in another Eastbourne trip this week

I thought his body type and demeanour was more masculine than I would expect from Angel. He doesn't have the kind of feminine grace I've seen in other interpretations, for example original broadway cast.

My first thought when he first appeared was that he didnt look right. His Today for You worked well though

Forgot to mention last night just how wonderful Philippa Stefani is as Mimi. Plays the role with a beautiful fragility combined with flashes of sassyness

I agree. Think she's the strongest Mimi I've ever seen. She's excellent in Lifht My Candle and also Out Tonight

I fell in love with Philippa immediately.... she is definitely best Mimi I've ever seen! I believed her every word...... she's a really talented actress and a great singer of course! I liked her in In the heights but in Rent she blew my mind completely. Give her some award, please!

Layton Williams tweet: I'm not perfoming in RENT at the moment, due to a recent routine operation. Happy to say that I'm recovering well & will be slaying soon!👠👠
