Had no desire to see this as I don't know the film or musical but a friend wants to see it so I've booked.

Trailer for the movie.
Again, like so many before, have not included any songs from the show to drop the slightest hint that this is a musical!

It’s so odd that the trailer has a soundtrack, but it’s regular pop songs. There are a couple of seconds where you can see that people are singing but you could genuinely think this was a simple remake.

So, if I'm correct, this comes in after Plaza Suite, after the Brodericks have departed?

Yes 2 months after. Plaza Suite ends end of March.

Georgina Castle as Regina apparently. I think she will be good however I wish they’d cast more age appropriate.

I can see Mouat as Karen otherwise Old old old old…Nothing that I have seen or heard of Castle in the past has suggested that she could sing Regina. OLD! And has Skye had to turn herself into Ellie so as not to clash with another Elena in the cast? I just found her acting distracting as Scara!
So disappointing!
…and don’t get me started on the movie trailer. It’s a musical, show some actual music…singing…dancing. Gah!

Well I'm getting old as the only name listed who I have heard of is Tom Xander. Guess it's because it needs a young cast so I'm presume these names are Six or Heather's actors?

Is there really any need to spoil the cast announcement without any warnings or spoiler tags?! Some people do like to hear through official channels.

Charlie Burn was Cosette in Les Mis and most recently a lead vocalist in the Disney 100 concert. Georgina Castle was Jovie in Elf and one of the step sisters in ALW Cinderella. She has a good voice however I wish we could move on from 30 year olds playing 16 year olds. Grace was the original Six swing and has been in & Juliet, Legally Blonde and currently in White Christmas in Sheffield. Elena Gyasi was an alternate in Six. Ellie Skye was Eponine in Les Mis and Scaramouche in We Will Rock You.

If you don’t want to know maybe don’t look on here. Well, for me I tend to see clues and people guessing rather than just flat out listing the cast. When people go to a show and report back they often use spoiler tags which is considerate to those who don’t want to know about spoilers for the plot, scene, performances etc, why not do it for this?!

People post casting before it's announced all the time? And shows going into theatres and on tour all the time too? This isn't new, it's been going on for as long as I've been on these theatre message boards (15 years +) I don't get the sudden issue.

Can I just point out that even cast 'announcements' like these perhaps need to be taken with a pinch of salt, unless Grace Mouat is somehow managing to play both Janis and Karen.

I’m not ‘in the know’ like a lot of people appear to be on this message board. How can I avoid looking with no warning or spoiler tag?! That’s my point. I shouldn’t have to avoid opening a thread just because some privileged members here want to beat other members in sharing the cast before it’s been announced. I was just voicing my view that I felt it was inconsiderate, especially when there is a facility to put a spoiler tag around it.

...this happens on every thread. Why are you particularly taking issue with Mean Girls?

I really don’t want to be or sound rude, but it’s the equivalent of having the news spoilt when you’ve chosen to read a newspaper.

I’ll got back to my newspaper then, ah yes, an article on this coming Wednesday’s news is in today’s paper! Incredible! A newspaper that predicts the future! I have no connection or great interest in Mean Girls in particular, I’m just a theatre fan who now feels pretty rotten from being hated on for expressing my view of a cast spoiler.
