I imagine it’s easier to just plonk a wig on than worrying about all that pesky styling.
I remember years ago that it came to me as a bit of a shock upon discovering how many tv actors were wearing wigs.

Since we have been on the topic of hair on this thread, I was row D on Monday and saw that David Bedella and Cassidy both had wig lines. So they seem to be wearing wigs that are basically the same as their hair. Why on earth is this please and thank you?!?! Surely it would be easier to you know, just have their own hair on display? Rather than have a wig based on their own hair. Weird. Anyway, leaving Cher like antics aside, was another great performance. Wonderful view from there. And MTL really is giving what should be an award winning performance. Lots of love for JLG's Romeo too. Gorgeous voice. And I quite fancy him so that's nice. What was slightly peeving was that I was surrounded by what looked like a sea of teenagers most of whom clearly hadn't had to pay for a ticket. Dunno if they were all from a drama school. A few friends of cast around me too. I appreciate they need to paper for word of mouth and I understand it. But it is annoying when as a genuine fan you have to cough up 75 quid for a good seat. I don't have a solution to this issue sadly! As for the "top price" for 15 quid or whatever it is offers, they are ALWAYS the back rows of top price non premium. Which as we all know is basically the entire stalls bar the back 4 ish rows in most theatres. Sadly GILT is like that too these days - always rows R/S/T..... I'd love to be proven wrong this year!
How odd if David's wearing a wig, none of the rest of the men are I believe.
As far as the women go, as well as the reasons mentioned above about mic packs etc, wigs also tend to look much thicker than normal hair, so unless you have a very particular style (like Miriam) then if everyone around you is wearing a wig your hair will just look really flat and drab in comparison. I think the mic packs is the main reason though.

I didn't really 'get' this tonight. I'd give it a solid three stars overall given that the only things I disliked were the music and the book. I thought it was a slick production with a cool and well utilised set, nice projections and some unobtrusive pyros. It's a VERY loud show at times and feels like being at a gig (many will like that) I disliked the lights on the outside of the pros flashing at the audience.
Theatre nicer than I expected with a well raked circle and nice loos!

Well isn't this just the most fun you can have with your clothes on!
Yes it's daft but it works brilliantly and everything about it is infectious. The songs mostly fit the story without too much shoe-horning and the leads are a dream. Cassidy sounded amazing on Celine's 'That's The Way It Is' and Oliver is just a handsome bundle of charm. It won't go down in the history books but it's a lot of fun and it will prove a lot of the early naysayers wrong.
I got F29 in the Stalls direct from the theatre's website this morning, for £40. Great view, a bit cramped but then I'm 6'7", it would be fine for most normal people. All levels were open, the place was busy and audience seemed to love it. Word of mouth is going to set this show alight, critics be damned.

Saw this on Thursday afternoon and this is just the most brilliant thing they could have made with this concept. Every performance was outstanding and I just want to see it again because I have no idea where to start with how brilliant each part was. I went through every single emotion I could have possibly felt. The love story between Francois and May was probably one of my favourite bits.
A show has never left me speechless in such a positive way, I do hope I'll find the words for this brilliance soon.
Also RE: Dayseats, my friend and I arrived at 8am because that's when we got off the coach but I would say 9am is safe for the most central seats and showing up to the box office at 10am will be fine to just get a dayseat. There was around 10 people in the queue for two shows when it opened.

Saying 'legroom was amazing' is all well and good, but for all we know, that person could've been Kristin Chenoweth 😂

A mere 6’3” here. I find the whole legroom thing hugely stressful when it comes to booking. I bow to you even taller folks.

It won't go down in the history books but it's a lot of fun and it will prove a lot of the early naysayers wrong. I'm not convinced. I don't think it will last a year. I'll buy the first round if i'm wrong. Back in the day when the Shaftesbury was home to a succession of flops, they only lasted about 3 months, but shows don't seem to close that quick any more. It seems producers have bigger pockets now. But given how much money they seemed to have thrown at this production, it wiil be here a while, but shorter then more recent tenants. Whats the target audience??

If I had to chose between front Stalls (around row D) or front Royal Circle (same) for this (both central), which should I go for?

The stage is somewhat high so you may miss the feet that close up unless you are on the taller side. The show is fab though and you’ll have a blast

So many big boys on Theatreboard.
At a mere 5 ft 8, I'm basically the board's Chenoweth.

6"2 here. I tend to find most seats comfortable but I try to go for aisles when I can as there's just a bit more room to stretch out.
Recently, I went to the Edinburgh Playhouse and the only tickets left were up in the balcony. The box office assistant warned me that the legroom would be tight. Which it was, but I had nobody to my left so I was able to just stretch that way.

I'm 5'5" (do I win something?), and was really uncomfortable in a stalls seat watching this. It wasn't so much the legroom, but something about the angle of the seat and the fact it was so low down, it was really hurting my back by the interval, and I left it until the last possible second to sit down for the second half.

The curve of the seat in front was in such an awkward place that I pretty much had to sit almost similar to side saddle just so that my legs weren't making contact with the seat in front.

Same in the stalls - I was sitting in M30. I can't complain too much, I booked through TodayTix and they upgraded me from the seat I originally paid for, which was several rows further back, but the way the rows are offset meant my knees were jammed right into the seats in front. The show is still terrific, though, and it was exactly what I needed last night.
