Thank you. So that means I can’t put a picture up of the bows I took? Pictures of the bows can be seen all over social media. I would be cautious about positing that here. Probably best not to post anything unless it has been released by the show itself. Then I am sure it would be fine to post it.

Indeed, thank you Sean . akh Regardless of what some shows may allow regarding recording and photos (I know &juliet have tweeted that it’s ok to take pics of the bows) , it’s not possible for the mods here to stay on top of all of the various arrangements for different shows. So we have a policy of no unofficial pics across the board, it’s a rule that everyone has become familiar with and it would be confusing to start having caveats. Thanks for your understanding.

Saw this last. night, Now I’m a miserable old devil in my 60s and it’s not my type of music at all. But I loved it! So much fun and all the cast, especially the leads were fantastic. Would highly recommend. Five stars from me!!

Saw this tonight thanks to the generosity of a fellow board member - thank you POL! The show - wow, it really is something! The audience were lapping it up and as each number started came the giggles of recognition. This cast is universally excellent, Miriam is of course brilliant and Cassidy and Melanie giving great turns. Great design, nice and loud too! I loved the twist end of act one - I didn’t actually see that one coming (although the visuals from the trailer make sense now)
If there’s anything that could be changed, the ending could be a bit tighter maybe, they didn’t seem to know how to wrap it up and it started to feel like a rush to get the songs in.
5 stars though, and I can’t wait to go again! I have a feeling this will become a big word of mouth hit. I was definitely sceptical when it was first announced but think this could be in for a healthy run.

I was also there last night and can see that this is a great production with an energetic and committed cast, deservedly playing to a full house and receiving tremendous acclaim from the audience. I also found the venue far more pleasant and comfortable (the toilets must have had an upgrade since my last visit, which was so long ago I can't even recall the year or show, but I'll no longer dread returning) than I expected and the FOH staff good.
So I'm absolutely not knocking any of the above but I did struggle a little and seriously considered leaving at the interval. My main issue, and nothing to do with the show, was sheer tiredness, despite having, for the first time ever, skipped my choir rehearsal the night before so as not to have 2 consecutive late nights. Nevertheless I was definitely nodding off during the first act and this despite the sound level - but this was obviously my responsibility and not that the show wasn't entertaining and engaging. Also, I did find the music pretty relentless and the insistent beat rather wearing despite being able to hear that the individual songs were catchy and familiar to most of the audience members.
So, top marks to the show, no contest, and this is obviously going to have wide appeal, will be ideal for Xmas outings and will receive plenty of repeat business. I wouldn't hesitate to receommend it to anyone; however, as far as this audience member is concerned, definitely a case of "could do better" and with hindsight, I wish I'd booked a matinee as this followed a longish film and even longer play (3 hours plus) and was just too long and too late for me to make the most of my visit.

I had a hugely enjoyable time at the Shaftesbury Theatre last night. I can only concur with previous posters who have liked this - thanks for the recommendations as it is a show that I normally would not have considered "my thing", being essentially a juke box musical.
Visually spectacular with great sets, costumes, lighting, sound and special effects with a truly talented cast of musical theatre performers who all looked to be having a blast up there. Miriam-Teak Lee was sensational as Juliet and deserves to be a star.
I enjoyed the witty book and the way the songs were integrated into the story eliciting giggles and laughter as the opening bars of the song was played to illustrate the situation. Some funny lyric changes too to fit the "plot" which is full of feminine empowerment and us poor guys get a drubbing much to the delight of the female audience. I did think the first act was stronger than the second though as the show dipped after the interval and the show seemed to have nowhere to go.
Who knows why shows are hits or misses but this show deserves to be a hit. Spectacular, brilliantly performed and sung, funny and with a very "on trend" message about the role of women in relationships.
A great Christmas theatre treat especially if panto isn't your thing.
A genuine standing ovation from 90% of the theatre which appeared to be full, although a lot of people on deals I think like me.
5 wickedgrin stars for the show but only 2 stars for the audience behaviour - this show will attract the worst kind of behaviour unfortunately - so be warned. Last night amidst the usual eating, talking and numerous trips to the loo during the show, a lady in front of me and to my left applied her make up, in the dark, during act two with a mirror compact which swivelled (magnified one side, normal the other) - the stage lights bouncing off it. It must have looked like some sort of morse code signal from the stage!!

The women are getting lots of praise and rightfully so but isn’t Oliver Thompsett fabulous in this too? He’s totally charming and his voice is strong, clear as a bell and pitch perfect.
Speaking of clear, the sound in Manchester was brilliant. Every lyric audible.

It’s nice and loud which I love for a musical, often find things a bit tame. I wonder what led them to choose the songs they did. One thought when I was on the tube back was “hmm I wonder if Max Martin wrote My Life Would Suck Without You”, and he did! I’m surprised we didn’t get Swifts “We are never getting back together” Raise Your Glass would have fit in so well too. Shows how many great songs he has written.

The original poster in the Manchester theatres brochure featured a list of the songs for the show. There were a couple which seems were dropped before opening night, including Adele's "send my love to you new lover" which is pretty easy to see how they would have fitted that in.

Speaking of clear, the sound in Manchester was brilliant. Every lyric audible. I had to check the show website to see which part he played as the only names familiar to me were those of Cassidy Janson and David Bedella - neither of whom I had realised was in this but I recognised the latter instantly. What was particularly enjoyable was the great voices all the leads had - really pleasant to listen to - unlike at some shows I've seen where I've winced; also worried for them when some performers seemed to be struggling to sing.

Had lots of fun at this tonight. Can see it going down very well with several old school friends.
Very much a jukebox musical - It could probably lose a couple of songs from the first act as they do get quite samey.
Cast knock it out of the park though.

There is some amazing talent on stage at The Shaftesbury Theatre. The performances and singing was just fantastic and i don't think i have heard a better sound balance in a musical on the West End Stage. The producers have obviously got money to burn and have thrown everything at it, and it shows.
I thought the way they used some of the songs was very clever and surprising, definitely better than how they were shoehorned into Mamma Mia!
But the script.... let me say that I didn't like Xanadu and hated The Toxic Avenger, so that type of comedy just isn't my thing, and for me, this fell into that camp. Some of it was just too broad. But i understand why they have done it and it does fit into the show, it's just not my thing.
Loved the songs, performances and staging, it was the bits in-between that let it down.
