My Fair Lady at ENO?! so would that be the Lincoln Centre production? Maybe we'd get the full massive house!? (apologies - my FAVOURITE show!) If we do then please cast an Eliza who can do a proper range of accents! Laura Benanti's inability to do a Cockney accent rather ruined it for me. Other than that I would be happy to see that production come over. |

I do think the Gillian Lynne will become available next year, not sure what could go there. Considering the Winter Garden in NY and the New London Gillian Lynne Theatre have shared shows before (Cats, School of Rock) perhaps it could become a home for Beetlejuice? I know nothing has been announced yet, but it's doing quite well in New York and has found its feet there, so why not? Would love to see it come over. One thing that bothers me is this new fad for planning only limited runs. I can see it as a face-saving thing - if a show is only announced as a limited run, it's less painful to close it within a year, but I'm sure that "9 to 5" could have had a longer run at the Savoy. I would hope that the Savoy stage is too small for Back to the Future, which should be quite a visual spectacle. Would love to see it go into the Adelphi next summer. Speaking of spectacle, it worries me to think that Prince of Egypt is only conceived as a limited run, which probably means they won't even invest a lot in sumptous stage sets, costumes, etc. this show would need to blow the audience away. Instead we'll probably get another cheapskate production like Pretty Woman (yet another one coming in as a limited run) that will be easy to tour. |

I'd put my request in for Rosalie to play Eliza now. She's the person who instantly comes to mind. |

I think in the case of 9 to 5, it was always meant to be a stopgap but ended up doing better than expected. |

So tonight I heard something interesting. Complete rumour with no substance behind it, but a Hello Dolly revival at the Adelphi with Imelda Staunton. Not a transfer of the recent Broadway production, but a new production.

Not a transfer the recent Broadway production, but a new production. Is this the Adelphi big musical revival from October which mrbarnaby mentioned recently? |

Agree with that, but having not seen the show cannot comment about size, although sadly shows seem to want smaller theatres now.
Ain’t To Proud is definitely coming over.

I saw Ain't Too Proud on Broadway and the Imperial is medium sized similar to the Palace, Adelphi and Shaftesbury but those sort of theatres are either full or very sought after. |

As I have said and you have agreed with London has a chronic shortage of medium sized houses, but I have gone on to say that London can do with a couple more theatres with 1500 seats.
I wonder how many shows London has missed out, due to no theatre being available?

Even if we had all the fancy theatres we desired would those shows sell? Are folk more interested in a touring production of Annie with a comedian in and a Dame with a German accent then some Broadway musical that hasn't set the world alight and no one but this board has heard of? |

If it does come over, it probably won't be until 2021 at the earliest. Somewhere like the Adelphi, Prince Edward or Shaftesbury would work. It's a shame the Palace has Harry Potter for the foreseeable future as that would have been a good theatre as well. |

Aah, just seen. That blows my ideas then if it's a Broadway transfer from the past 10 years.... Something Rotten! would be a great choice. Also "The Last Ship" is touring the US at the moment and I know there was hopes it would eventually come into the West End. Lots of options. |

Id like it to not be something I want to see because this year is getting too expensive. I'm on course to be seeing double the amount of shows I did last year just based on what's been announced already and this can't continue. 😂

She was amazing in the series, would be interesting to see her take it to stage.
