I wonder what's going into the SHAFTESBURY THEATRE after the refurbishment 😏 Summer Pretty Woman Cher (if successful) Or perhaps a tour could come in or something new that the west end has never had before

Doubt it’s any of those 3 - possibly Pretty Woman is the only one with a small outside chance. We won’t get Sunmer, and unless it gets phenomenal reviews I can’t see us getting Cher either.

Incidentally, is Cher banned from the UK? Her 'farewell' tour has made it all over the place, even as far as Australia, but no bloody sign of her here

Can’t believe there’s still barely a murmer as to what’s heading to the Dominion.

Can’t believe there’s still barely a murmer as to what’s heading to the Dominion. Maybe they'll do a season of one nighters, ala Paladium, concerts and touring muso's etc to fill the gap.

I'd like to see Moulin Rouge go into the Dominion. That would be a perfect fit. Although the same producers are going to take a big fall next week with the opening of King King next week on Broadway.

It's actually not a perfect "fit" at all, given that the Dominion is probably twice as large in stage and seats as the pre-Broadway run was. The set is lavish and full of detail, but it's not large.

Also, given that it's not even landed on Broadway yet, its a good while off taking up residence in London anywhere.

The Dominion is a hard one to fill. It's extremely large, which makes sales very difficult. Shows aren't as lavish or mega enough to fit into that wide stage.
That aside, I wish they'd just get rid of that brown painting and horrible lighting. Besides the big bathrooms with multiple stalls, I really cannot stand going there.

Maybe they should just throw a singer in there for a residency... bring Cher's show over when her tour is over. 😂

What about The Greatest Showman in the Dominion that would sell so well people know and love the movie I know it's normally broadway first but we could have it before my other choices are The Bands Visit Spongebob Hello Dolly with Bette

I think it will be a while until we see Greatest Showman anywhere on stage, if at all.
I think even Dolly with Bette would struggle in that theatre, which is also way too big of a stage. The set design will have to be completely scaled up to fit that mammoth of a stage. Spongebob might be the right fit in terms of scale and size, but that show did so badly in America I doubt they'll take a risk with Dominion. Band's Visit is a totally wrong for Dominion too, and I don't think will generate much business in London to begin with. I think what drives the business to this show on Broadway is that it's set in Israel, and I don't think that would be as marketable in London as it is in New York. Maybe at a Young Vic-type with a guaranteed subscribed audience and a small house, but not in the West End.
Sorry to shut down all these ideas. But I think the Dominion is a very tough one to fill with the right show, let alone a paying audience.
