Is it fishy throughout the entire theatre or just the front of house? Nooooo, just the restaurant area, the theatre is on an entirely different floor. Some may not even notice it, but I am extremely susceptible to any kind of fishy smells and I did notice a lot of it on their menu when we looked at booking a meal there. My other half didn't mention it at all and it even seemed to subside once you hit the bar area even though it is in the same room. I probably just walked past a few tables that happened to be eating fish at that moment. I'll bear it in mind if I visit. Although, the current show doesn't entice me.

I've booked the next two plays on Roulette seats. Such a bargain at 12 squid a pop.

Went last night.
In all a very nice venue, done to a high spec, good sightlines as the theatre was in a horseshoe formation.
Nice to see a new venue that is not above a pub or railway arch.
Wish them well and look forward to see the effect.

Well the new season has been announced (so far as the late night cabaret and comedy is concerned anyway), 21st Feb a Yes Queens improv show with Charlie Russell of Mischief Theatre, which I'd love to attend but am seeing David Baddiel elsewhere. Then 6th of March the fabulous Rachel Parris. boulevardtheatre.co.uk/lates/#friday-comedy

I agree it is a silly time. Luckily Travelodge just started a 30% discount offer so for the 6th March one I got a room for £19! Might be worth checking if you really wanted to go.

I'm not that desparate, especially as I'm in London on the Sunday of that weekend so don't want to get home on Saturday, having probably not slept, then be going back down on Sunday!

Has anyone heard anything about a possible re-opening here?
I passed by recently and was wondering. Looking at their website, it doesn't appear to have been updated since last year.

Ah thats a shame. But the timing of lockdown for a new theatre was very bad

Yep, not ideal timing. Is it the daughter of Paul Raymond? Anyway, on a similar theme I cycled past Olympia recently - this development is starting to look immense, 2025 they're saying. Has to open with a proper bang, Shirley >
p.s that new theatre at Kings Cross can't be far away ...

Is it the daughter of Paul Raymond? Granddaughter. His daughter predeceased him.

I can imagine someone putting their drink down at the side. Then it starts moving and their drink is suddenly on the other side of the room. That was always a danger at revolving restaurants. Women would put their evening bag on the 'windowsill' and later realize it was elsewhere. Imagine what it would be like now with cell phones!

Still no update about this venue I loved coming here for Ghost Quartet and thought the cabaret with Fra Fee was excellent. It's such a well developed space and I hope we get to see something play inside again soon.

I was looking forward to Kathy Burke directing The Cavalcaders. Such a lovely play - maybe one of the Irish theatres will ask her to direct it.
