Yeah we don’t play around with Covid over here. At a show a few days ago they asked the lady behind me to put her mask up and a few minutes later (i guess she pulled it down again) they came over, told her to gather her things and follow them out - she was leaving. Yes I saw a party being escorted out of Harry Potter by security too so I assume this was the same thing.

Three auction items sold on Sunday. One pair of gloves for $20k, a second pair for $20k, then a signed whistle for $20k (I’m not sure how you sign a whistle…) Sounds like the Thursday audience got a bargain!

I'm also really hoping for a cast recording. Is there one in the works?

Any advice for someone visiting in Sep and really wants to see this? The ticket prices are ridiculous and I could never afford them. Is day seating my only option for a cheapie and if so does anyone know how many seats they have up for grabs? I don’t mind the queue (well only a bit), but I’d hate to be queuing 4 hours to find out there’s only 20 tickets and I’m number 21!

I’m thinking Hugh probably won’t be with the show in September so prices should fall. However this far out you should be able to get some of the $99 seats they sell at normal price.

Broadway.com says "Hugh Jackman will not appear as Harold Hill August 15–21, 2022; September 5–11, 2022 and October 10–16, 2022", suggesting he's staying on. But I'd be interested to know how long he and Sutton Foster are planning to stay, as I'm hoping to catch them in November.

Oh interesting. Somewhere in my mind, I really thought I was told he was leaving earlier. 9/10 months (not counting rehearsals) for someone with his filming schedule is a LOT.

Now to try and get tickets

That will be tough going. I wonder how many hours long the queue will be to get standing tickets? Or will they just pause the overnight queue when rush tickets have gone, then the people still in the queue wait a few more hours and hope to secure standing places?

I know Justin is a performer and has acted but he's never done theatre.

Hugh Jackman posted on his Instagram stories that the Justin Timberlake story is not true, and also that he has no plans to leave on 8th November.

Cast recording in progress as of today! I'm especially excited for Sutton's dreamy vocals.

Yep and ties in nicely as I arrive in NYC on 1st January in the morning. So just bagged myself two seats for the last show!

I'm firmly in the camp who feels that this production could—and should—have been much better as a lot of it is flat and uninspired.
That being said, a night with Hugh Jackson and Sutton Foster is always going to be pretty enjoyable.

The cast recording came out today and I’m really enjoying it. Interesting...I think it highlights just how miscast both Sutton and Hugh were in their roles... there's absolutely no humour in Hugh's performance, and as much as I love Sutton (and I really do), both Til There Was You and especially My White Knight just do not work when they're being belted to high heaven - Barbara Cook and Rebecca Luker's renditions stand this test of time and I think this...doesn't. Really makes me think what an Audra McDonald or Kelli O'Hara Marian would have been like if they going to age the role up...

Kelli O'Hara is actually younger than Sutton Foster, and all of them are younger than Hugh.

I know...but if they were going to have Marian in her 40s as they decided to when casting Sutton, they should have cast an actress of that age who could sing the role as written, hence why I suggested Audra and Kelli
