Tickets are on sale now. "Hamilton"-like prices.

Oh. Got back onto the website - musicmanonbroadway.com, which takes one to Telecharge - again. Way more tickets available, and at way lower prices: still very expensive, but not absurd by the absurd standards of Broadway. We bought four in the front row of the mezzanine all the way on the side for October 14, which we assume will be a press night, for $199 apiece.

On the desktop version of the Telecharge website you can get the cheaper tickets up - we managed back of the mezzanine in the far corner for $123.75 each, once you add all the fees on.
That’s obviously expensive by London standards but probably average for Broadway! Pretty sure this is not going to end up discounted at all, though.

My tickets have been moved to 20th April. Now need to see if I can move my flights to match.
Not perfect for us - we're planning to go on to Canada afterwards, and it'll be a whole different holiday in April than it would have been in September - but there doesn't appear to be seats available later in the run to exchange to so I guess we're stuck with this date.

I have been eagerly awaiting public booking reopening for this and it finally has. I have my ticket booked for next April. Glad that Scott Rudin was replaced as a producer and this can still go ahead! Think it'll be a blast.

I’m excited that this has managed to open as scheduled so far! We have tickets booked for April and it looks to be a great production. Wonder if this would transfer well the the West End.
Having listened to the cast recordings there are a few lyrics and moments which haven’t aged so well. Notably the song ‘Shipoopi’ I wonder if this has been cut or changed or if they’ve remained with the original material!

Don't have an awful lot of interest in this show but this is pure class from Jackman

Well now Hugh and his standby have both tested positive for Covid, so no performance till the New Year. It's a major problem trying to keep a show running these days.

All shows cancelled until the 6th Jan. Which means we are now going to New York to see a show that has been cancelled. Too late to cancel flights etc now, so we’re making the best of it.

The critics can't seem to agree on this. Two stars in the New York post but praising Foster over Jackman with others praising Jackman over Foster. Still excited to see this but not sure it's living up to the hype!

Rushed for this and got a front row seat for $49. For all the complaints over how expensive the tickets are for this, it's great that they have this rush policy for those willing to wait.
Hugh Jackman - what a showman! Oozing charisma and I thought he was really fantastic in the role. Sutton Foster I thought was great, but she is so wasted in this role. She doesn't have much an opportunity to dance until the finale. Supporting cast all very good.
The choreography in 76 Trombones and Marian the Librarian was next level brilliant. I also really enjoyed the finale. I was unfamiliar with the score and I wasn't too convinced with the first few numbers - A lot of the score is quite "talk-sing" which I wasn't expecting - but it did grow on me as the show progressed. Really loved the closing number of act one - The Wells Fargo Wagon.
I can see why the reviews are mixed. Hello, Dolly! this is not. But for an afternoons entertainment it was greatly enjoyable and I left the theatre with a huge smile on my face. Will be trying to make a return visit next month.

Mark What time did you start queuing if you don’t mind me asking? Flying out to New York at the end of next week and definitely want to see the show. :-)

Has there been any talk of a cast recording of this production? I feel that it would be such a missed opportunity if they didn't!

I recon you'd of been fine up until atleast 8am on Wednesday (2 show day) I was told all seats were partial view but mine in A9 was absolutely fine, just a small restriction for about 5 minutes of the show when a piano was blocking the scene.

Playbill are now publishing Broadway weekly grosses again with this taking the top spot last week at $3.4 million. Excited to see it in less that two weeks on our trip! We are also seeing Cursed Child which doesn't seem to be selling quite so well.

It's always so fun seeing a big musical on Broadway for a change and this one didn't disappoint on Friday night! The theatre was full and buzzing. Broadway theatres are employing people just to police face masks and audience compliance was therefore 100%. This makes the incoming a bit stressful but nice to see that they take keeping theatres open so seriously.
The show, although it took the first 15 minutes to get going is everything you'd want from a big revival of a classic musical. It has been directed in such a way that the show almost feels like a parody of itself really playing up the stereotypical small town behaviours of the characters to great comic effect. It zips along at a nice pace. Jackman excellent in the role however Sutton and the supporting cast did steal it a bit with some great comedy. The orchestra sounded wonderful with a lot of nice detail in the playing and not overblown. The barbershop quartet were excellent and vocally stunning - as was the ensemble.
Lovely set design with a particularly well constructed house set which appears several times throughout the evening.
Shipoopi at the start of act 2 has been rewritten as a slightly less sexist number than it was before!
At the end of the performance was the usual auction for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids and Jackman auctioned off a glove to an audience member for $12,000. A great donation for a great cause!
There's always an element on Broadway of 'I've payed hundreds of dollars for a ticket so really want it to be good' but this Music Man really is a very fun show!

Yeah we don’t play around with Covid over here. At a show a few days ago they asked the lady behind me to put her mask up and a few minutes later (i guess she pulled it down again) they came over, told her to gather her things and follow them out - she was leaving.
