I will be interested to see how this does. With the current tour of Hair being promoted almost entirely as "The Jake Quickenden Show" and selling quite badly, hopefully producers might start to think having a few recognisable faces from the telly is not enough to shift tickets anymore. Don't get me wrong, I liked Hair, but I think if the likes of ATG are going to try to charge almost as much as West End ticket prices they should have West End talent up on the stage.
Don't murder mysteries usually sell quite well? Or is that just because they tend to be put on by smaller venues than this is touring to?
For me personally I think the thing that may harm it the most is how far in advance it has been announced. I didn't buy a ticket when they went on sale because it's not on in Liverpool until 2020, which sounds aaaaages away, and there's a lot more stuff to spend my money on before then. And then I kinda forgot about it until now...

And then I kinda forgot about it until now... When it was first announced I went to Dartford [ as cheaper than Bromley] to get a ticket for Priscilla & one for this. Was able to get the Priscilla ticket but told Curtains wasn't on sale yet. I haven't bothered to go back yet.

Just no. It isn't awful- but I wouldn't pay for that level of skill.
The voice is adequate - and no doubt could be improved. But there are many properly trained types out there who need the work and who don't need the extra effort necessary to get them ready to be part of a major tour.

Sounded flat on almost every note to me!

There was a lot of speaking to music rather than full-throated singing - so I was giving him the benefit of the doubt. But there was quite a bit of singing under the note going on.
That can be fixed - but I don't think it is worth the effort

The head of costume design is the same lady who did Six and has just done the incredible costumes for the Spice Girls tour so at least one thing will be decent.

I fully expect an announcement to say the tour is being pulled because they’ve sold 13 tickets.
None of the general public will have heard of this show and the casting is just absymal. Ore ? Please.

It’ll be fine and do well I reckon, unless you seen signs of poor ticket sales already ?

I don’t know but it looks like some of those that appear sold are being held back. Seven consecutive rows of four seats all ‘sold’ on the aisle on left block of the stalls seems unlikely.

And if it's opening night, presumably some of the premium seats in the central block are being held for local celebrities, and the bloke from the MEN?

Fizz and Antony Cotton off Corrie will be two of them. Lyceum opening night looking busier, you’d better get booking TallPaul !

I’m sure it’ll pick up over the next few months. Calling it now, it will be in the westend next year as a filler

Sleeper hit of the year eh theatregod? We heard it here first! I do wonder if Jason M is leading man material though. Especially for the WE. He just about pulled off the producers although Stuart Neal at the Rex more recently blew him out of the water. And he was rubbish in Chitty. He can mess about in a comedy but I’m not sure he’s an actor.

Just had a look at the Liverpool Empire seating plan for the opening night. I estimate that around 200 tickets have been sold (seating capacity 2350) so far.

It’s amazing the producers want to put on such a lengthy tour before testing the waters!

Could be the most interminably dull MT experience ever with Manford on board. Can’t act or sing imo.Weird casting. He is presenting at WE live so there’s another toilet break or two sorted.
