I'd like Mrs Michael Ball to have the night off I'm going now, so that I can have the joy of seeing JOJ and Earl - the best pairing of all time in my opinion

Was Gemma Wardle the first Manchester Eponine? I recognise the name? Not sure but think it's Meredith Braun on the Manchesterford CD. Yes Meredith Braun was the Manchester Eponine. Were the 5 tracks from Manchester released on CD? I had it on vinyl....
Gemma Wardle did play Eponone for a while, but she was also in Fame and Betty Blue Eyes. She's got a great voice.

Yup, I have the 5 track CD. What I have never been able to work out is if they used the Manchester orchestra or just added vocals to one of the previous recordings as sometimes happened when they used to do these EPs.... The CD inlay doesn't say!

It’s interesting that they’ve gone with performers new to the show for Eponine and Cosette, given that all the other principals have a history with the show.

Yeah I'm sure they'll be very good, but this is being billed as an 'All Star' cast - bit disappointing really.

Would have been nice to see established Ensemble members being given the roles of Eponine and Cosette? Having said that , it's good to see a recent graduate being given a chance.

The full cast list is on the website now, Simon Bowman will be playing the Bishop and Earl Carpenter is Bamatabois. Lots of other familiar faces in the cast, surprised Rosa O’Reilly would take an ensemble role in this over another year as Nessa in Wicked but then I guess this is a special production to be a part of. Is Leo Roberts the guy who’s married to Eva Noblezada?

And most have played the same characters and probably wouldn't plump for an emsemble role maybe. I always said I take it as All Star(red in Les Mis at some point) cast.

(some of who were not much good) not being on when people go and someone who has made an impact at some past time playing it, or there's going to be the oldest bunch of students ever - that would make a German university and its 30 year old students, look like a kindergarten.
Its the star you may not see, true star who may not sing, and really good people starring as really old students show.

In my view,it depends how the term,’star’ is defined. To me,Simon Bowman is a star as I associate him with being one of the ‘stars’ of the magnificent production of Miss Saigon back in the day.Suppose some people might have expected some stunt casting, perhaps?

I expected it to be not so much 'star' as in 'all Olivier or Tony award winners' but as in 'people well known for something in musical theatre'. So, much as I side-eye the choice, Carrie Hope Fletcher counts because she's well known and has a large fan base. I really didn't expect Eponine and Cosette to be absolute unknowns. Nothing against either actress, they'd both be valid choices if it was just 'latest cast change at Les Mis' but when it's billed as All Star it seems a bit of a swiz.

Disappointed with that casting. I'm sure they'll be fine, but I was hoping for people with at least an association with the show. I also notice they have dropped the "All Star" part of the tagline, and are now just using "The Staged Concert".

to be honest I am actually not bothered how old people are I mean its a concert anyway. I am there for Oliver Brenin, Ciaran Bowling, Vinny Coyle and a couple of others who I wanted to see onstage. I wouldn't have booked if I knew they weren't doing it.

Its only the Cosette who has never been in the cast. Yes, but I'm sure that was only in preparation for her concert run. I assume she had already been cast as Eponine before they put her in, uncredited. That's not uncommon, and Cameron did the same with Jodie Prenger. She did a few weeks at Les Mis to give her experience in a West End musical, before she started as Nancy in Oliver at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane.

Am approaching the concert version as a celebration of this monumental musical so despite my grief at the original closing,I have decided to get down to London and embrace it in the right and proper spirit of support. The All Star casting certainly fits in terms of most of the main leads but as for the less-well known cast members, maybe this will be a ‘star-making’ vehicle for them.

I've just seen that the night I'm going has JOJ on as Valjean and not Alfie Boe which I'm delighted about! Although the ticketing website is confusing. It has a note on the top stating that John Owen-Jones will be performing as Jean Valjean on Mon, Thurs Evenings & Wed Matinees but only the Friday and Saturday are marked as him not appearing?
I'm taking this to mean that they don't mark the shows that JOJ is scheduled to be on for, but only the shows Alfie is off on top of the JOJ dates? It's been a long week...

The new version moving into the Queens (btw isn't it disrespectful to rename something named for the monarch after your mate? ) is going to need a cast. and/or there's going to be some swapping with the tour. The all star concert might be a place to train up an Eponine and Cosette, all be it on the wrong version, and if there's 15 hold overs from the old cast , you have the basis of your new ensemble too??
It is somewhat odd though just to bring back hordes of your past most successful Valjeans. Javerts and Mariuses - on top of your male names , there for being names who gurned their way in the show in 2010 . Where's the great past Fantines, Eponines, and Cosettes though? Cameron seems to define star as with a big youtube following, or male.
At least we can be thankful Nick Jonas isn't back, or Russell............

Not for Alfie , he's only doing two shows that week from what you say.
Its the all stars when they turn up concert .Bit much if you actually want to see a particular all star.
I wonder where they could get some performers who can do 7 or 8 shows a week? Who could possibly train to do that ?

It's the "stars" previously announced that have made the tickets pretty much sell out.
I'm glad to see MT names make up the rest of the cast rather than random people from Eastenders.

Let’s face it, there are very few ‘stars’ in the All Star Concert. People may have a pedigree in musical theatre and may be people’s favourites but stars? No. And someone who has just graduated? No.
I’m absolutely certain it’s going to be wonderful but weve been misled.

So what are the chances this will be filmed? The Phantom's staged concert only helped sales and I see this doing the same for the new revival
