Just got my meet and greet ticket for the evening concert. Hope I'll be more eloquent compared to my meet and greet with Audra.

Was thinking about perhaps coming to this. Do we know what sort of musical accompaniment Queen Kelli will have? Is it too much to expect an orchestra? I feel like she deserves more than just a piano considering her repertoire so hoping for a decent number of strings

I do remember being impressed as usually you just get piano drums double bass and guitar for lots of solo concerts.

Met her at the stage door after The King And I...such grace and dignity...had a pic with my daughter and signed/chatted with the fans for ages...

Just got to Cadogan Hall for this evening and immediately feel uneasy. A sign outside says "you cannot bring your own food or drink inside" Why?! I always buy a bottle of water before going to any theatre and felt like a criminal walking in the front door. Also, if you book through TodayTix; you don't get a printed ticket?! Not getting a nice vibe from Cadogan Hall so far.

I always buy a bottle of water before going to any theatre and felt like a criminal walking in the front door. Also, if you book through TodayTix; you don't get a printed ticket?! Not getting a nice vibe from Cadogan Hall so far. The sign is meaningless (I didn't even notice it), plenty of people had their own food and drink at the matinee and no-one said anything. I was not impressed at the lack of printed ticket though! Ms O'Hara is on good form, she seemed quite at ease and very much enjoying herself. For me there wasn't a huge amount of light and shade in the repertoire, particularly in the first half, but that's a by-product of the type of parts she's played really, and she does sing beautifully. I thought the second half was stronger and she really came into her own. The live musicians were also a treat, she didn't need an orchestra, it's an understated show but it works and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I'll say no more until after the evening show!

Seems a bit OTT to feel like a criminal due to a sign.

I saw Kelli this afternoon. 2 hours of absolutely pure bliss! I don’t think I have ever heard these songs sung so well, and probably never will again. Plus, she has such a charming and charismatic personality and stage presence. Can we keep her? It is such a shame that we don’t have anyone at all on the same level in this country. I had shivers from the first moment to the last. I could have quite easily sat through the whole thing again.
My only caveat was that she really didn’t need the microphone. She could have done the whole thing acoustically and sounded just as glorious.
I will go into more detail once the last concert has finished, but just WOW!

Does anybody have a list of songs she sang?

At the matinee she sang:
Act 1:
I Have Dreamed I'm in love with a wonderful guy So in love What more do I need That's how I say goodbye The light in the piazza Getting to know you To build a home
Act 2:
(S)he loves me Finishing the hat It nearly was mine The sun went out A song she wrote about her great-grandfather Smile/Here comes the sun mashup They don't let you in the opera (if you're a country star) Make someone happy
Encores:
I could have danced all night La vie en rose

Well, that was a rather classy affair. Kelli O'Hara was perfect. I mean it, perfect! Superior on every level. The second act was the stronger half. I had no idea she was a country bumpkin. She is magnetic and charismatic and warm. I was crying one minute and laughing the next. I adored her husband's song and the Smile/Here Comes the Sun mashup. And she can sing in French?! I would have easily listened to another 4 hours of her. The only thing that marred my enjoyment was the theatregoer next to me who felt the need the waft his hands about the music and shaking my chair to about 7.6 on the Richter scale. Also, not a huge fan of Cadogan Hall. I didn't like the vibe, too stuffy for my taste. I felt out of place. But apart from that, great views everywhere, quite comfortable chairs and great acoustics. If I desperately wanted to see something at Cadogan Hall again, I would go but it's not somewhere I would rush back to in a hurry.

I loved it too - normally a soprano/operatic sound isn't my cup of tea but her voice was glorious and she was completely charming and lovely. I love that Cadogan Hall keeps getting these Broadway stars.
A lot of today's songs are featured on her first 2 albums which I'll be listening to this week on Spotify!

Very much enjoyed the matinee. Lots of Americans in (at least near where I sat), the only downside being them exchanging comments during the show.
This was just Kelli and five musicians, no backing singers or guests. Although she did point out The King and I UK tour ensemble sat upstairs (just back from performing with her in Tokyo). We also got to sing Getting To Know You.
I preferred the first half with musical theatre songs, but it was all great.
They had programmes and posters but had removed the price signs with none showing (probably to increase the prices), so I didn’t buy anything. And also disappointed that TodayTix buyers didn’t get a ticket.
It did seem mostly full so the discounting obviously worked.
Some great anecdotes from Kelli too.

On the TodayTix comments - admittedly I didn't collect mine today as I was running late, but normally you/can do collect your printed tickets at the Box Office. Yes they do allow you to just walk in with your email confirmation, but I've collected printed tickets for everything I've seen there previously (unless they've changed it within the last month, which is obviously possible).

Was there tonight and it was utterly, totally glorious. I cried, laughed, and cried some more. Brava, Kelli!

I too preferred the first half to the second. Again, just to hear those songs sung like that was a real privilege. However, I thought the whole thing was stunning!
