The immersive experience?! It sounds like it is a walk-through virtual reality experience giving you the impression that you are a character within the story as it unfolds with smells, lighting and such like. It does sound intriguing.
Edit: The website states the following: Jeff Wayne’s The War of The Worlds: The Immersive Experience combines Jeff’s Musical Version, immersive theatre, virtual reality, augmented reality, holograms and other cutting-edge technology; giving audiences the chance to live through the Martian invasion of 1898.
Visitors will be thrust into the heart of the story from the moment they step inside the vast 22,000-square foot multi-level site in Central London, which is being transformed for this unique Martian adventure.

Heavily advertised at the Arena tour late last year.I am a sucker for this show so will have to try and catch this at some point.Kind of thinking that this might replace the live tour for quite a while if it takes off as a tourist experience.

Touring arenas again 2021.
Tickets on sale Friday.
Wasn’t the last tour announced as the farewell tour?

If you wanted to see an amateur production, FrontroverPaul, there's one at Nottingham Arts Theatre at the end of April / beginning of May.

If you wanted to see an amateur production, FrontroverPaul , there's one at Nottingham Arts Theatre at the end of April / beginning of May. That would indeed be an interesting one done by amateurs. When I saw it in London I felt it was a so-so show very dependent on the special effects which will be hard for amateurs to replicate. Not one I like enough to venture to Nottingham but thanks for the tip.

Just been on the M & S Bank arena in Liverpool to see about booking for the production when tickets go on sale. In the production information i saw this advertised as part of the new tour -
The incineration of a cast member in full view of the audience.
I enjoy a good light show and pyrotechnics, but this seems a bit extreme. I hope its a large cast if this happening.

I would be very surprised if it was a new version.
I fully expect the Liam Neeson hologram to be put out again and an email asking about Jason Donovan’s availability sent.

Is anybody else watching this on YouTube tonight? I've never seen it, so am watching. I think I'm probably missing some things compared with actually being there (the heat rays for a start!).

Oh I wondered what this weekends offering was. I enjoyed the spectacle and the orchestra, and Shayne Ward had a set of pipes on him, but it did go on a bit.

I tried this last night but gave up after about 45 minutes. It was very spectacular and I think I would have really enjoyed it if I had watched it live, but I just found it a bit boring. I don't know what I was expecting but with quite a few MT names I was expecting more songs. I only heard 1 person singing (Marti Pellow) in the section I watched, so maybe the rest of the songs were later on. Also when the names of the cast came up at the beginning there was no mention of Shayne Ward which was one of the main reasons for me watching it.

Shayne Ward was in a different tour to the one filmed. Ricky Wilson plays the role in this version.

Yeah, I switched off as soon as the titles came up realising that it was the older version filmed. I endured Pellow in Blood Brothers once and vowed never to again.

I also watched this to see which version it was and it was the one I saw on tour 2012. It’s spectacular seeing it live so obviously a lot different on the small screen. Ricky Wilson as the artillery man was the standout performance for me but I do agree that it does go on a bit too long. It was lovely to see it again though.

I think that his is the strongest song, which is why Shane Ward made the same impression on me. It is an unusual ‘thing’ in the first place; a bizarre hybrid of rock concert, orchestral concert & stage show. Admittedly the staged elements don’t really land but as a visual whole it is impressive.

This is back out next year on tour next year. Kevin Clifton has just been flogging it on GMB but I missed which role he is? Surely not the Artilleryman? Does he have that rock tenor voice? I know he’s just been cast in something much more in his skillset for this Summer but WOTW surprised me. Nice to see nice doing well.

It will also include Claire from Steps.... /

Claire will be great in this she has a brilliant voice. Always wondered if she'd ever be in a musical.
Quite a fitting role too as what happens to her character is, well, a Tragedy...

Heaven knows what's going on in Brighton and Bournemouth. We can't have concert venues with such sensible names. It's 2021 for goodness sake!
