Heard that Daniel Bedingfield has left the show. So if you're going for him, I guess you're out of luck!

Oh well. A shame, I was a little dubious when I saw this but came out of the show and thought that the boy done good!

In today's Daily Mirror they confirm Daniel left in the early stages of the run. A source said "It just wasn't working. There were a lot of difficulties behind the scenes with the production. The schedule of performances is very intense...it's a shame they couldn't make it work but he made the shock departure earlier this month and until now it's been kept under the radar"
Hmm not sure how performing one song in a two hour show is "intense"...

And very rum that he's still being advertised as being in the show, so some people are presumably booking to see him.
I wouldn't have recognized him if I fell over him so came out when we saw it convinced we had seen him until a quick Twitter check said 'no'.

[byr] Yeah the article also mentions he is still featured on the publicity. Apparently he has since been spotted partying at the Coachella festival in America

App he was not the only one that left the show according to some people?

All the other main players were present and correct three weeks ago. Who else has jumped ship?

I saw this yesterday afternoon and really enjoyed it for the most part. Hugely entertaining (but then again I am a sci-fi fan)
I have hardly knowledge of the original album - I knew the vague story.
I must admit I was one of those people who was expecting more of a musical than a concert, especially with the amassed talent of musical theatre performers/actor-singers. Was baffled that they had so little to actually sing or perform.
Bit too much narration for me. Would have been nice if it could have reconceived a bit more. Madelena Alberto was superb as ever in her limited role. Michael Praed was very solid, it was nice to hear Heidi sing "properly" and I still like her voice a lot. David Essex was as overrated as ever (lots of his fans in)
The person who is now covering for Daniel Bedingfield going AWOL is extremely good and I loved his belting high notes!

Touring again in arenas from November
Lots of the same cast as last time. Wasn't Groundhog Day the other week?!

Carrie Fletcher made a big deal about it being the last tour as well on her YouTube channel last time she was in it. Marketing ploy I guess, is this being called the revival?

I’m all for anything that gives people work, but I remember this being a bit of a slog only lifted by Carrie and Shayne Ward (I KNOW...what a sentence to write!). I can see no real need to bring this back again other than greed. Jeff Wayne clearly has some big ol’ tax bill somewhere 😱

Certainly cheaper than getting all this out of storage and slinging it round the country for another run (that directly contradicts the title of the last tour!).

It's become the carpet shop closing down sale of the musical world. I have no issue if Wayne wants to tour this continually until he dies, but don't go around calling it a farewell tour when you clearly want it back.

But it was a farewell tour. In fact, it fared so well they're doing it again.

Does anybody actually love War Of The Worlds or is this being funded by ‘why not’ audiences?

I like The Eve Of The War and Forever Autumn, and the artwork with the 12" album is awesome. The rest I can take or leave, and mostly the latter.

Or it could've been just "the final arena tour" before the Dominion production - which I guess didn't go too well so they've gone back to arenas.

I was thinking of booking but it's expensive. £70 plus fees for decent seats.

I just found an E-Mail for this in my spam folder. Am I the only one slightly disturbed by their advertising
"The incineration of a cast member in full view of the audience."
Do you get to vote who you want to see burn?

Dear, oh dear... I can't believe the negativity I read above. Clearly, those above must've seen a very different show to me.
Anyway...
Last night I finally gave in and went to see The War Of The Worlds live on stage at the BIC. The place was packed!
The original and 'new generation' albums are essential listening. What I saw - and heard - last night was incredible. If you've have the opportunity to see it, you'll know what I mean.
The album, and show, are a close-knit, almost family, affair. It's not just Jeff Wayne's family that have been and still are involved, but musicians on the original album from 40 years ago are still playing their part. They may be in their 'twilight' years, but boy, can they play! The guitarists in question - Herbie Flowers and Chris Spedding.
Cast... Journalist and narrator, Liam Neeson. Not there in person, but in film. Neatly interacting with other cast members. The Artilleryman was Adam Garcia. My favourite of the whole bunch, to be honest. Jason Donovan was the parson. Jeff's daughter played the journalist's wife, Carrie.
The singing thoughts of the journalist were provided by Newton Faulkner. While he sang Forever Autumn, leaves fell from the ceiling. Simple, but very effective.
A very good night was had by all.

Would love it see it - but it's expensive and can't justify it right now - tickets start at £55.

Saw it at the o2 this evening. Don’t have much good to say. I was in a particularly empty area so no atmosphere which didn’t help and there was a mic failure during one song. Nice job for the performers, treated well, nice hotels for a couple of songs a night.

Saw this yesterday afternoon and wasn’t overwhelmed, but everyone around me sounded like they were totally blown away by it, so maybe I wasn’t the target audience
We’re the singers miming? I was pretty sure the journalists fiancée was miming pretty terribly.
Did not understand the point of that huge mechanical bridge they brought down. It didn’t really serve any purpose?
£15 for a programme too, first time I’ve ever refused to purchase one. That’s insane money.
