Is anyone watching this? Musicals night tonight and some good performances, particularly Saara Alto who sung some of Let it Go whilst skating!
The drama was a row between Gemma Collins and Jason Gardiner. Entertaining, but sad to see what so called celebrity has come to in the UK.

I usually love Dancing on Ice but I really can’t see the attraction of Gemma Collins. I agree with everything Jason said. As to her saying “I can win this” I really hope no-one else thinks she can! I think she is the laziest one taking part and the sooner she goes the better!!

Apart from the Gemma Collins nonsense, it was an enjoyable show. Saara was great!
Gemma really is a lazy, entitled, deluded waste of space! Jason can overstep the mark at times, but he was bang on the money about her!

Gemma thinks she is a really big star, Jason can be very bitchy and he'll really stick the knife into her. Also I can see Chris Dean getting fed up with her as he is a perfectionist and has his diva moments too especially if he thinks she is disrespecting the profession he reached the pinnacle of.

This just gets duller and duller with each season... Makes Antiques Roadshow look exciting.

Of course that little spat sums up everything that is wrong with the show.
The panel - especially Torvill and Dean, and the other skaters who are taking the competition seriously and putting in many hours of work, must be FURIOUS with the vote resulting in Gemma not being in the dance off.
On the other hand the ITV producers who cast her on the show will have known exactly what they were going to get - drama, tantrums, poor skating, no lifts, possible falls and it is GREAT for the ratings! She is the Anne Widdecombe or Ed Balls of DOI. So you simply cannot take the show seriously or waste your time voting. Who is voting for this woman?
However, I think Richard Blackwood (although not the best skater on the show) was robbed too on Sunday night as Saira Khan was worse being lifted all the way through the routine. Her skates barely touched the ice. Interesting that the panel were split on the decision. But again another fault with the format is that Torvill and Dean (after working so long together ) think the same so as head judges only they get to decide really.
I think this only gets viewers simply because of the slot on TV - most people are in at 6.00pm on a Sunday evening and there is nothing else on at that time.

Used to enjoy it. Gemma Collins however is one of the rudest, most uncouth, nasty people I've had the misfortune to see on television, Gardiner had every right to criticise her (aside from it, you know, being his job). I remember the lighthearted days when Todd Carty could flail off the ice, have a good sense of humour about it and it made nice, cosy telly.

I'm no fan of GC I've never seen her in anything but what Jason said in interview to the Sun was shocking. The competition had begun, he not only brought his credibility into disrepute but also the show.
His comments also have an undercurrent of 'fat shaming' to them and it's very disappointing.
I watched week one where he spoke about feeling uncomfortable watching her. She actually was much more confident on the ice than I expected.
He was in the wrong and fair play to her for calling him out on it and they hypocrisy of Saint Philip and Saint Holly taking digs at her then.
As for the decision of Torvill and Dean I hope people turn off in their droves next week. One person skated around the ice and the other was carried around the ice.

It’s not as good a show as it used to be years ago however I am enjoying this year’s series. To me the best booking they made is Didi Conn - she seems so lovely and is a total legend in my eyes! Agree with a lot of the comments above about Gemma - totally unprofessional and her sense of entitlement is ridiculous. Not a fan of Phillip and Holly but can’t see them ever being replaced permanently.

Gemma has always come across as very self centered and thinking she is a far bigger star than she is. We all knew what her limitations on the ice were going to be due to her size as she is certainly the largest female contestant they have ever had on the show. My views on her are nothing to do with her size or being a larger competitor on these types of show - Lisa Riley (when she was large), Alison Hammond and Russell Grant were all unlikely stars of Strictly due to their personality and willingness to put the effort in.
Gemma seems as if she puts in minimal effort, if her fitness doesn't allow her to then fair enough do shorter training sessions and her stamina should improve and enough stars have done shows like this and Strictly and shed a lot of weight across the series.
Jason was wrong to sell a story on Gemma and in a reverse way it inflates her ego. I'd have said he was a far bigger star than her personally.
No way will she win it but a fair few better skaters will go out before her.

This year is a good show, every week the wrong person has gone in my opinion. And the drama with Gemma is just silly, I feel a bit sorry for her partner Matt. My favourite professional is Mark Do miss Dan though.

There’s some excellent skaters this year. Melody was very brave being the first celeb to do the headbanger and the ballet routine James did this week was just great.

Well, after last year's frozen marathon, I haven't actually ventured into the audience this year. But what an absolute revelation is James Jordan. Yes, yes, I know he can already dance, but he's got to do it all on skates, presumably casting his weight in a totally different place and, well, ice is a bit slippery after all! I've seen a clip somewhere this week of him with Dan (missing him loads!) and it looks as though he's doing a paso doble. I also like Wes, Saara and Melody who, along with James, are head and shoulders above the rest. I don't watch live, but need to somehow work out the 6 minutes we get for voting as there's a double elimination today. Jayne's improved as a judge and how lovely was the Torvill and Dean dance the other week. I was watching her through tonyloco's eyes after he mentioned (on another thread) that she has the most incredible musicality and phrasing as a dancer and, of course, he's absolutely right! Even at 60 she's still got it. (Long may we all be educated by our Tony.👨🎓)

James was always going to be a contender, he'd have good balance as a dancer and would know the mechanics of a lot of the lifts. I think Wes will probably win it and his partner Vanessa is probably the best pro skater there.

Aw. What a sad way to end an absolutely fantastic show tonight. I was wondering who the judges would pick during the skate-off and couldn't decide.
James Jordan. Good heavens! Never ever thought I'd hear myself rooting for him.
Love Kate Garraway refusing to take off her coat. It's bliddy cold in there I tells you!
Should be a good final.

Ahh that skate off was heartbreaking! Such a shame as Brian definitely had the biggest improvement through the series and he was such a character during his performances. James was excellent, especially his first performance tonight, I hope he wins.

Yes a great show tonight. James is amazing and it was such a shame that Brian fell.

Felt really sorry for Brian when he fell. He is the one who has progressed the most. He will be a miss in the final.

Hard final to call, I thought Wes was clear favourite up to last week when James got max scores. Wes perhaps has more likability factor than James whose possible lack of popularity cost him a chance of winning Strictly on one or two occasions. But James has come across as very humble this series and not had any possible arguments with the likes of Chris and Jason. James will probably be better at the artistic interpretation of Belero than Wes too.
Wes on the flipside has had no performance background like James has had and probably has the best professional partner in the very talented Vanessa. Wes's routines may not be as polished as James but he probably gives more energy and entertainment.
Saara deserved to reach the final and has improved week on week but isn't realistically as good as the two male celebs so will likely have to settle for 3rd place.

Another vote for James to win from me. Agree that Saara is most likely to come in third place.

Yes, hope James wins. He was great last week and deserved his scores. Its one of those that you can't tell until the night as one fall on the ice can put paid to your chances.

I like James too. (He and the other two, along with Melody, have been my favourites since the beginning, so I'm more than happy at this final line-up.) He has been the total opposite of how most of us imagined he'd be and is amazing to watch.
But for me the final is really all about a great show. I remember bumping into a couple of family members (definitely the famous bonkers nana and one of the mums I think) in the loos at the Joseph final and, honestly, they were just so proud that their boys were putting on a good show and had got that far.
If the show is as good as last week's semi, then I honestly won't mind who wins.
Looking forward to it. Hopefully they'll open the phone lines earlier, like last week, so I may vote if I'm inspired to. Will start watching about 40 minutes in to avoid the breaks.
