Just out from this new farce, which I believe counts as the UK (and probably) world premiere.
The Tabard Theatre is a good pub theatre, own entrance, raked seating. Good view from row C.
Some of the crew and actors greet you on arrival and mingle, so be prepared to say hello. The front row also get some audience interaction.
It’s a short play, 30 minute first half, 15 minute interval, 45 minute second half. There are some very funny moments. The woman next to me was in hysterics a lot of the time. It is quite predictable but that’s not a failing.
Performed by a cast of eight, many playing multiple roles, there’s also the elements of traditional farce in there. Some of the cast are very good, some more wooden, but it’s all performed with gusto.
And even a bit of 50 Shades of Grey style humour mixed into the goings on in the vicarage. What’s not to like?
