ATG tweeted a picture of After Miss Julie saying "see it before the West End does". I presume this will go into an ATG house then, maybe Duke of Yorks? Duke of York's won't be available until January. It's probably the Trafalgar Studios or Pinter The production could wait until January. Forgot about Trafalgar Studios, can certainly see it there

I heard an interesting rumour today, that a certain Family was in the process of finally making it across the pond for a UK tour and possibly West End run. No idea how true it is, but apparently it will be some point in 2017. A dumb family?

The Addams Family? I wouldn't be surprised if After Miss Julie transfers. It's a great play and meant to be an improvement on Miss Julie perhaps. Not sure what this production is like though.

IF Shuffle Along transfers, then maybe Audra would do this instead of Lady Day? Although she's not as big here as in NYC, I can't imagine either show would do particularly well without her.

I think he could possibly mean Fun Home?

My guess would be The Adams Family... I would usually say Fun Home but to general public, they wouldn't think of Fun Home when someone says "a certain family". I'd have a guess it is most likely Adams Family.

Maybe Next to Normal? Weren't the rights for it held in the uk by someone owning some source material? i know many are waiting for it...
(I haven't seen the Adams Family but heard the book is really dull.. Lippa's music is usually very fun though)

Admittedly, it was partly because of the translation and changes they've made, but I wouldn't rush to see this show if it came to London unless someone I desparately want to see is in it (for example, Julie Atherton as Diana). (I haven't seen the Adams Family but heard the book is really dull.. Lippa's music is usually very fun though) Neither have I, but that's a show I'd be really looking forward to. And after seeing Carrie Hope Fletcher singing Pulled in this video, I could actually see her as a potential Wednesday.

The score for N2N is boring and repetetive (at least it tried to integrate its music into the story... sadly it's not very effective) but the story is really interesting, the book quite clever, and there are great acting opportunities in it. Yeah you'll excuse me if i don't watch that... :/

I cannot see Shuffle Along transferring to London, given that it's just flopped on Broadway. And it's telling the story of a forgotten but important Broadway show. If they couldn't keep it running over there, they would be INSANE to bring it here.

Still, to play devil's advocate and say that it is transferring, Shuffle Along's premature closing on Broadway shows it would have close to zero chance of surviving without her in London. On a similar note, although I assumed Audra would be marketable over here to an extent, I noticed that even with Rebel Wilson, Guys and Dolls are still selling premium stalls seats (central row G in the stalls) for £18 on TodayTix. Maybe more American names have less traction over here than I thought?

Has 'Lady Day' sold well? I remember seeing plenty of tickets left before they cancelled. Granted it was some time before the show, but they have been on sale for a while at that point haven't they?

I just meant that she found her success by appearing in a lot of US films/tv shows (Bridesmaids, Pitch Perfect, How to be Single etc), much like Audra is lauded for her work in American theatre.

I kind of hope Shuffle Along transfers but I would be surprised if it does because it's based on American Theatre so I would've thought it would've done better there? I presume they'd want to transfer bigger hits over here instead. However, Legally Blonde did much better over here but it was panned to do better in America

Are these actually rumours or some camp version of fantasy football league? Shuffle Along has about as much chance of transferring as Time the Musical has of being revived!

I wonder what is going to happen to Wind in the Willows/finding Neverland, all the medium size houses seemingly are doing good business, so wonder if one or both of these shows end up going into the London Palladium or Drury Lane.
Shame The King and I is off.

Shame The King and I is off. I can't seem Wind in the Willows going to a big theatre like that to be honest, more like a middle sized one? I dont know why. I think FN will close very, very quickly if it went to one of those theatres too? I don't think it'll be a long runner if it did anyway. I dont know what I can see going to the Palladium? No producer wants to risk their show going there so it might just stick to concerts, tv shows etc. Whats the the rumour about Mary Poppins going back to Drury Lane? Is that still likely?

Think the theatre owners will offer more favourable terms to get a tenant in now.
Think Alfie Boe will pull a lot of people in for FN.
It is obvious producers don't want the big barns anymore, so why don't they diversify their business. For both Drury Lane and the London Palladium - only put up for sale the Stalls and the Royal Circle, which will reduce them to medium size theatre thus it give more chance of selling out and more intimate experience, if the show becomes a hit and sells well open up the upper circle and balcony as day tickets.

I wasn't too fussed about The King and I if totally honest so it isn't a massive disappointment on my part but I know a lot of people were excited for it. The main draw for me is/would of been Kelli O' Hara. Hopefully we will get her over here in something soon enough!

It could be very possible that Mary Poppins is being blocked from opening, not by Cameron Mackintosh, but by Disney as they want to give Aladdin the best possible start and be mindful there is big competition for that young demographic, especially as Harry Potter is taking a hefty market share. Also remember that Cameron Mackintosh also owns the Prince Edward, so it is not in his interest if Aladdin folds early.

Willows has a theatre. Don't think they will announce until after it's opened out-of-town.
