^The point being made is clear-the OLDER brothers in the bible story who attempted to murder Joseph who was the YOUNGEST brother are now being played by kids whereas Yarrow is an adult-so even suspending belief in terms of the precepts of theatrical convention don’t work for this production. tbfl is correct- the show is excellent but this production isn’t.Have been proud to direct an am-dram of this and would never have cast in this way.Bizarre and obviously a cheap way of saving money on adult actors.

I assume Sheridan still hasn't missed a performance and hope that she completes the whole schedule. Does she have any booked days off to anyone's knowledge ? Having seen her in Joseph at the Palladium twice, much as I could happily attend every week, I decided I'd only go again to see someone else as the Narrator etc. I have the same conflict. I deeply hope Sheridan won't be off as there will no doubt be national outcry. But I would LOVE to see the cover take on the role and would deffo try and snap up a ticket (if available) to see another Narrator. Anyway, she has no booked days off as far as I know. Wonder what they'll do re casting if the show returns either in the New Year or next Summer as rumoured.... Expect they could convince Jason to do it again but Sheridan is always so in demand with TV and other work. I am hoping for the return to the classic formula of a pop star Joseph and MT Narrator. I believe that ‘national treasure’ Suzanne Shaw off of Hear’say is being lined up to replace next Easter....actually Kym Marsh wouldn’t be dreadful would she? Let’s go with that...🤣

Joseph was not the YOUNGEST brother Xanady, Benjamin was the YOUNGEST brother..... Damn, I wish I'd seen your am-dram version, it sounds divine! [yet, nonsensical] lol PS, Aren't there like 24 adult cast members in this? - the first production to have an equal number of wives? - how is this cheap? ^The point being made is clear-the OLDER brothers in the bible story who attempted to murder Joseph who was the YOUNGEST brother are now being played by kids whereas Yarrow is an adult-so even suspending belief in terms of the precepts of theatrical convention don’t work for this production. tbfl is correct- the show is excellent but this production isn’t.Have been proud to direct an am-dram of this and would never have cast in this way.Bizarre and obviously a cheap way of saving money on adult actors.

CRUMBS! Poor Ann Crumb *googles Ann Crumb gets eaten by the Aspects Of Love set*. LOL - certainly I don't mind show stops - quite like the drama! Yeah that's a good point re safety - the kids won't have the experience of sets the adults do. And we don't want another Ann Crumb situation (she was eaten by the Aspects set). I think whatever mechanism rises and lowers the middle circle of the stage must be more complicated than one assumes. They had it for the 1991 Palladium Joseph but didn't have it for the subsequent RUG tour or the Adelphi version.... What happened to her? I can only find that there was an accident. Not that I want gruesome details but just a vague idea. That still sounds wrong. Sorry.

^lol you are correct about Benjamin, but a bit distracted atm as I am writing two different pantos and under time deadlines so Theatreboard is not my prority. However, the point stands about the kids and cannot be logically explained in any way possible.Btw my Joseph was not non-sensical as you say. It was as per the hired script/music as we had to agree not to make any changes which is standard procedure. We raised hundreds of pounds for the NSPCC and I am very proud of all the performers/musicians who gave up their time voluntarily for the six sold-out performances. Tall Paul, thanks for the introductions...just one thing,Denise...why the French flag...? for one horrible minute I thought I had strayed onto the thread about the godawful new touring/London production of Les Mis hahahaha.Off to finish the pantos as there is money involved.

Think she broke her lower leg. Sounded pretty grim.

There’s a kid playing the goat too. No outcry about how unrealistic that is yet though.

I saw a production in a church and a toddler played the goat. It was the cutest choice among many bad ones.

Yep. She was in a fluffy white coat and horns, and had on a pink onesie underneath. The brothers pulled the coat off of her and she "shivered" and ran offstage.

Joseph was what brought me to my London and London Theatre Love in the nienties, so even if what i have read so far doesnt sound like soemthing that I will enjoy 100%, I am just going for the fun of it :-) I understand that neither Sheridan (don't know her anyway - I'm coming over from Germany)nor Jason will do Stagedoor. But that you can see Jason arriving at the theatre pre show - that is exactly what I did back in the day. So maybe I am doing it, but around hwat time does he arrive ?

Now I want ALW's next musical to be "Goats", with a logo of two weird horizontally-pupilled eyes. The cast will wander around the auditorium and basically eat all your stuff.

My absolute favourite show would be pigmy goats wearing knitted jackets on trampolines.

Jason generally does stagedoor briefly after the show and has done most of the between matinees as far as I am aware 🙂

HELLO!! I've not posted on here in ages! Sorry guys I have a very busy crazy life! I'm off down to the big smoke to see Joseph tomorrow and I'm very excited! Joseph at the Palladium with Jason D is what I've wanted to see since I was 10 years old! I never saw the original production and I've always wished I had! In fact it'd be my first stop if the TARDIS was real! Only thing missing is Linzi Hateley!

From looking at the website, the brothers AREN'T Kids... www.josephthemusical.com/our-people/cast/They also haven't named who the baker, butler, jacob, mrs potifar and potifar are. Was the number on BGT bad? yes...yes it was...mainly because SS was ahead of the music as she was singing to track and i agree from a poster above that the end of the notes were clipped. ALW has his name all over this and he wouldn't want to put out an inferior product. I thought JD was fine and Jac was wonderful. Whether you like him or not, he has some of the most successful shows that have ever run, and from what i hear, this production will transfer to an other WE venue or to Broadway when the Palladium run is over. Broadway? One second.... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAA HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHHAA HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA HAHAHAHAHAHAHA HAHAHAHAH HAHAHA HAHA HA UGH... #anykeywilldo

Hi Roxie , welcome home. Hope life was crazy in a good way. Ah, well, can't have everything - but I thought Ms Smith was nicely different but equal to the great H. Thanks TM! Life is crazy in a good way!

I cannot see Joseph going to Broadway, it would need a fairly big theatre and a name as Sheridan isn't well known in the US likewise Jason Donovan

Any number of people could play the narrator in this production on Broadway. Especially since the comedy is at the front of this production.

Any comedienne Would Do - Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Bell, god even Miranda Sings. Wonder if Bette Midler would give it a bash? The possibilities are endless here... Stick Jimmy Fallon or James Cordon in as the Pharaoh and you’ve got some serious $$$$$$ coming in!!
