As always in this sort of situation, rather than believing the first thing you hear it's better to wait a while and see how the story develops. Like people did in the Tree fallout?

To some newspapers lying and then paying compensation is a workable business strategy. As always in this sort of situation, rather than believing the first thing you hear it's better to wait a while and see how the story develops. Exactly why the way someone people have faith in The Sun is so dangerous. My late mother always used to say that if it was in the papers, it must be true ....

Remember The Sun pays people to supply those showbiz stories as well, so there’s an incentive to polish them up a bit.

Ironically, Dan Woolton who was the Sun showbiz editor but has now been promoted, (no idea how but his bio on there says how many followers he has on social media, which seems to be the only thing that counts these days) is forever tweeting Shez. More recently to try and do some work together to help those with mental health. What a cheek, I thought, when he used to really tear into people in his column.

Remember The Sun pays people to supply those showbiz stories as well, so there’s an incentive to polish them up a bit. A few years ago a member of another fan forum I used to frequent tested the tabloids by providing some completely made up story about an actor, to see if they'd do any fact checking at all. She didn't give her name, and made it vague & ridiculous enough not to be defamatory. Surprisingly one tabloid actually printed her story as being verified by 'friends of the actor' (she wasn't - and never said she was) without ever contacting her or the actor in any way. All from a few lines on a Tweet.

Exactly why the way someone people have faith in The Sun is so dangerous. My ‘Sun’ horoscope has always been pretty spot on...that’s about the only accuracy and honesty I’ve seen in there. That, and their campaign to only have real boobies on page three, but even they’ve gone. They tend to grab hold of the merest grain of truth and fashion a story around that.

Has anyone had any luck with dayseats for Friday evening shows? Want to take my mum next week and stupidly didn't check my email in time for the lottery confirmation email. If they can't guarantee any I'll just buy them but it's a bit more expensive no more day seats offered by the box office. It's selling well. Even the info on their website has been changed now

Interesting article in the sense that it makes it clear that she was joking and that people laughed. The cynic in me says that's so she can't sue them for making her sound like a sex-pest.
She then apparently took the joke a bit too far, and "all" the male dancers were embarrased and awkward. Really? All of them? Some (not all) of the dancers I've seen on social media don't seem the least bit shy about getting their kit off, which I suppose you can't be when you've got maybe 5 or 6 people sharing a dressing room.
Obviously the fact this appeared in The Sun makes me question whether this actually happened, but it's been picked up by The Mail so it MUST be true...
Also makes me wonder has anyone ever used the word "manhood" outside of an article in The Sun?

Manhood used to come after childhood in my younger day. Adolescence was when a boy was sometimes said to be on the verge of manhood.
So many words have changed their main meaning over the decades. Still can't get used to things described as bad, wicked or sick being praised.

And let's not forget, Smith was TOTALLY truthful during the 'Funny Girl' technical difficulties episode.
It's not just the press that would manipulate the truth to suit them.

I’m sorry but I don’t trust any story from a paper like The Sun when this article was clearly written with an agenda against Sheridan Smith, because she’s an easy target because of her past troubles. And even if it were true, it’s doesn't even necessarily make this sexual harassment! People are so quick with their outrage these days, it’s so tiring.

Sheridan and size-questioning in the same story- whoever would have imagined it? And let's not forget, Smith was TOTALLY truthful during the 'Funny Girl' technical difficulties episode. It's not just the press that would manipulate the truth to suit them.
Really? She was under no obligation to justify herself during that time, or explain her personal issues, to a bullying press.

If she responds to every story she will be responding all day everyday and giving them more attention.
If she sues the only thing that will happen is a line apologising, hidden somewhere in the paper. What is the point?
I cannot imagine what it must be like to have to live your life under such unrelenting scrutiny with people searching for things, anything, to try and bring you down.

^Don’t think anybody on the board should be calling a fellow member a person who is coming across as a ‘pretty horrible person’...I think we should avoid personal comments like this with all due respect.

I don't think anybody on the board should be making snide comments about someone's size either. But he did.
But ok, fair enough, I probably shouldn't have written that.

No one made any comments about Sheridan's size.

It seems pretty clear to me that horton was referring to the question about size of manhood that Sheridan allegedly asked. Not her size. We have rules about that sort of thing on TheatreBoard so if anyone thinks someone has broken the rule please report the post rather than hitting back at the poster.

Looking at some of the official pics I have to say that the criticism of sets being cheap seems a little unfair. Unless the pics aren’t representative?

No one made any comments about Sheridan's size. In which case, I appear to have misunderstood Horton's comment. I have removed my comment and apologise. But I agree, back to the show...

It was uncluttered but looked great. And they had a thingie that came up from the floor. So that's impressive.

The most expense seemed to be for Pharoah's entrance, quite grand then. The rest was fine , not really cheap. I don't remember any other production I have seen of Joseph having anything particularly grand.
