Unless Waitress picks up it will go to the Adelphi after Summer. Wishful thinking or fact? Not wishful at all but its numbers aren't good and Andrew owns the theatre so he wants it for Joesph. Waitress may pick up but all it needs is to not make its weekly break three weeks running and RUG can give them notice.

This is either going on tour after the Palladium or going to Europe. NOT TRANSFERRING.

I can't see the need for another Adelphi run. The last one wasn't exactly a long runner as I recall

I wonder how much longer Uncle Bill will hold on to the touring rights? 😉

I wonder how much longer Uncle Bill will hold on to the touring rights? 😉 I'd image that a generous rights fee is paid to ALW, the touring version must be a real cash cow for Bill the amount of times it comes around and the additional shows they put on over and above the standard 8 per week.

I hear it’s going to the Adelphi for a Christmas run before touring. They don’t want to waste the money it cost to build the set

Why would this tour if Kenwright's Joseph is touring. Competing against each other? ? Or will it just be touring like it has been forever. Seems very odd to be going on tour.

Mostly because they are completely different in terms of energy, set and production value. They both ran in the W/E at one point in the Lee Mead years. This is supposedly a brand new production, so will no doubt amp it up again but I think they should dispense with the story all together and make it one big megamix. 😂

So when the last Palladium version toured in the 90s, the Kenwright version was suspended (think RUG can request this). It was marketed as a different version, had incredible production values and sold out long runs at the massive touring houses. So there was absolutely the audience for it. Was in my opinion one of the best ever touring musicals, atmosphere was electric. After it finished, the Kenwright version started up again and continued as normal. Don’t think it needs big audiences to turn a profit.

I hear it’s going to the Adelphi for a Christmas run before touring. They don’t want to waste the money it cost to build the set I hear you are talking rubbish. 1. It’s NOT moving to the Adelphi 2. The cost of reducing the set to fit the Adelphi from the Palladium is considerable- it’s much smaller 3. A lot of the Palladium set is existing set they are reusing from the panto they did last Xmas there - floor, portals etc. 4. It’s not going to the Adelphi.

I that case it will surely return for another Palladium run like Cats did. Has sold incredibly well and will be almost a sell out when the time comes.

It may not be going to the Adelphi, but I hear it is transferring for a holiday run. When you say "holiday", do you mean "Christmas"?

Isn’t it a bit odd that we still don’t have a Jacob or either of the Potiphars? Maybe they’re trying to secure names? Or various performers doing it on rotation like they have going on in Sweet Charity?
