Would be nice to meet some ppl off of here. I too am there the 17th. Can’t wait to see Linzi again. I’ll either be in something pink or rainbow 😂 lol.. I’m in the Royal Circle A1, I have blonde mid lengths hair and I’ll be wearing a yellow/brown/pink patchwork shirt and blue jeans! Roxie, is that for the matinee or evening show. I’m in K 1 RC for the evening show.

Fingers crossed I might be watching this tonight. As the show at the Bridge theatre was cancelled due to COVID, after a mad dash from Kew Gardens to the Palladium, the box office staff at the Palladium said come back at 6pm to see if they could split some of the double seat bubbles up. It’s going to be a long hour!

Just left first preview. Great fun as ever. Ecstatic crowd and lovely to be back. Alexandra Burke is good, but this role was really made for Sheridan (as in, due to the direction). It felt weird seeing Burke try to play it up like Sheridan did.

Well, as a last minute theatre trip, that was absolutely brilliant. A 2 hr slick production tonight. It’s been over 20 years since I last saw Joseph and what a great production this 2021 version is. Jac as Joseph really delivers in all aspects and looks mighty fine in his technicolour coat. Vocally, he doesn’t disappoint and you can see on stage he is living out his dream. JD gives a brilliant and witty portrayal as Pharaoh and his number in Act 2 really is a show stopper. For me Alexandra Burke as the Narrator was a mixed bag. With her you get a more funky narrator that dances ( I just hope that on Saturday LH doesn’t go down thus road and plays it more traditionally). Vocally she delivers but with the comedy aspects of her role I wasn’t entirely convinced it suited her. Maybe I’m being a bit old fashioned here but her as Joe’s Dad and Mrs P didn’t work and I would have preferred other actors to play these roles. I was really impressed with the kids tonight. Great fun on stage.
Staging, that Egypt set was fantastic as the main set piece, particularly in Song of the King and great lighting by Ben Cracknell. The 16 piece orchestra led by John Rigby was just sublime playing that iconic ALW score. No issues with the sound tonight and even after 50 years, that score is still one of ALW best with that mega mix at the end still a highlight and so much fun.
Sadly no on stage appearance by ALW, but people did spot him sitting in the stalls tonight. Overall a 4⭐️ production on this viewing.
Programmes are £6. Other merchandise was on sale but I couldn’t see any prices.

I'm sure she will be able to do it well as she is a good actress.

A question for those of you who saw the 1991. Did they have the magamix in those days or it that a newer thing?

I seem to be going down a YouTube wormhole... this is the video for Phillip Schofield singing Close Every Door, which was also released as a single...

Is it also right that the megamix was added to "pad out" the musical as it is quite short? It's actually my favourite part.

Have they got rid of those tents or whatever they were at the beginning that kept causing the show stops?
