In related news...the Stacey Dooley Sleeps Over this week is Stacey meets the Mormons in the North Of England...bizarre and other-worldly,but weirdly compelling...I think?🤔

Is Kevin Clay not doing the Amsterdam stop, or was he unfortunately ill/injured for press night?

I believe he and Conner are with the tour until the New Year, so he was probably just indisposed. Don’t think he’s missed many (if any) shows so far across both Manchester and Sunderland so it’s probably just normal illness or something.

I believe he and Conner are with the tour until the New Year I’ve heard about Kevin possibly leaving after the European stops but nothing about Conner. Where have you heard he may be leaving in the new year? I loved Conner as Cunningham and would love to see him again!

I just thought it would make sense, seeing as they’re the only 2 American lead cast members. Got a feeling Jacob Yarlett could get Cunningham as lead.

Just because they’re both from America doesn’t mean they have to leave togeather 😂🙈
I hope Conner stays for a while, he’s amazing as Cunningham!

I went to The Book of Mormon in Amsterdam this afternoon! This was my first time seeing The Book of Mormon, although I was already very familiar (and obsessed) with it, as I had previously seen every snippet on youtube (the Tony performances are so good!), listened to the cast recording, and read the script. However, seeing it live on stage is always is very different, so I was very curious (and I was also a little bit afraid that it wouldn’t be as funny as it could be, since I knew most of the jokes already). I needn’t have worried: it was amazing! I had the most massive smile on my face the entire time. We had the entire original UK/International tour cast as far as I could see. I loved the sincere portrayal of Elder Price by Kevin Clay: I really felt for him and loved his naivety. Connor Pierson as Elder Cunningham was amazing. I felt like his portrayal was a little bit different from what I had gleaned from youtube: it was much more over the top than I had imagined. Absolutely loved it though. I can only imagine the amount of fun he is having every time he gets to do fun numbers like Man up or Baptise me I also really liked Nicole-Lily Baisdan as Nabulungi: her Sal Tlay Ka Siti was very touching and perfectly communicated the wish for a better life. I also loved seeing Baptise me: Nabulungi trying to copy Elder Cunningham’s over the top weird movements was brilliant! Another highlight was the hilarious African women explaining metaphors to Nabulungi. Such dry humour. Loved it. The set and production quality are just astounding. I was particularly blown away by Man up and Spooky Mormon Hell Dream. And the tap dancing, wauw. Every musical should have at least one tap number. Fun names for Nabulungi were the standard ones as far as I could tell. I heard netflix, but couldn’t discern a specific name for a Dutch audience. There was an immediate standing ovation as soon as the bows began. Very well deserved. All in all: a solid 5/5 stars! I will make sure to book another trip to The Book of Mormon when it is in Zurich, Switzerland.

Oh and two more things I should mention: - when we left the theatre, there were actual mormons outside trying to spread their faith. I really love how they have embraced this musical. Also, based on the actual mormons (I'd never seen one before), the costumes in the musical were spot on. - I noticed a small mistake during the final number, when the mormon on the far left on the first row had their little book the wrong way around. When holding the book in the air, he noticed his mistake and very casually flipped it over. Very professional. I love finding little mess-ups like that, because it's what makes each and every show unique.

The Birmingham on sale is this morning.
I reached the end of the queue to find the seat map was unavailable, then my request for one ticket was "too complex to process online". So I presume this is selling very well.
I'll hold off and book another time.

Interesting. Sales here have been really sluggish despite the short run. I guess that's why Germany can't have nice things and we'll be doomed to Tanz der Vampire on an endless loop.

It is in Leeds from April 8 - May 2. I have booked a supercheap ticket of 15 pounds on the balcony to see it again Incidentally, I also booked the cheapest ticket of 60 chf (47 pounds ) in Zurich for December to see it there. It is almost as if I am following the tour around Europe... I am not, I assure you
