I am applying for jobs in theatre and I've been advised to apply at ones that are currently dark and maybe reopening soon as they will be looking for staff. Does anyone know of any in London that may fall into this category or where can I find out?

^ atgtickets.com is the official Piccadilly Theatre website. The londontheatres.co.uk one is Encore. Check "The Stage" newspaper as it often has FOH still, and don't neglect currently running shows as they have staff turnover. Find out the name of the person hiring - usually the house manager in independent venues or HR in chain places. A good CV, with covering letter, personally addressed and even hand-delivered (NOT pre-performance / post performance) is still a way in. Oh, and pet bugbear (no, not that bear) of mine: if applying for jobs, get a "proper" email address. "GigglesMcGoo@hotmail" is fine among your friends, but looks unprofessional. "RobinBanks@hotmail" or "RBanks@hotmail" etc makes a far better impression. Thanks for the advice. Don't worry, I'm clued up on emails etc. I've just been out of work for 3 months and getting desperate now! I will try Piccadilly.
