Word of mouth should be good for this once it's up and running. I wonder if we might see a name in the role of Nino in the West End. Don't get me wrong, Chris Jared was great as Nino at The Other Palace and I'd be very happy to see him again but I could see the producers going for someone like Kevin Clifton for the new run.

I find it rather pretentious and self important rather than clever marketing. This is a pretty niche show teasing an announcement over five days as if it was the second coming of British theatre or something. If they’d put as much thought and effort into the sound design the audience in Manchester might have been able to hear it! 😑

Isn't it just a bit of lighthearted fun?

I'm just wondering where they got the raspberries from...in March!
There were two things my gran regarded as a culinary treat; a dressed crab from Bridlington and a punnet of rasps at the height of summer. Life was simpler in those days. 🙂

Would be very mean to drop Jared after he appeared on the cast album. He's wonderful in the show.

So odd that this transfers and Carrie, Eugenius, Be More Chill, Dogfight, Big Fish, Falsettos and Titanic don’t.
I suppose it’s all to do with the producers on board. I found it rather average and weird. Still good luck to them!

Excellent news. Does anyone know if this is bookable from anywhere with seat selection? The Criterion booking system is not fun.

Good news but disappointing that seat selection is not possible. I enjoyed Amelie at The Other palace but to see it again at the Criterion for me it's "front row or no go". All the other shows I've booked recently up to September manage to combine social distancing with the ability to choose a seat, even if only as part of a bubble.
It's also a confusing booking system, took me several attempts to be offered a seat anywhere. Hope it won't affect ticket sales too much but I'm leaving it for now.

Ring the Criterion (it's what we did) and we got basically the seats we were after.

Not user friendly.

It's better, but in my view unfortunate that the NIMAX system hasn't been adopted by more theatres while social distancing remains necessary. All unsold seats available to be selected, then instant revision after each booking.

I certainly agree with you that Nimax's is the best by far, just saying that there is a slightly nicer way to book tickets for this show than the clunky Criterion website!

Still good luck to them! All to do with money. I believe Amelie was planning a return to The Other Palace for last Christmas, they certainly have been trying for a while. I wonder what will reopen The Other Palace, as I understand it Be More Chill is long gone.

This was nicer than the Criterion system but not as nice as others (as has been mentioned). We have to remember that the systems simply weren’t originally designed for these rules. It took me back to the good old days. Opening the site on 3 devices and choosing the best one seat of those offered!

Saw it tonight and I liked it, mostly due to my love of the film, but couldn’t honestly say I loved it: I wasn’t mad about the score (the Elton John bit was all that really stands out after apart from the odd bit of accordion in tribute to the Yann Tiersen score) but I liked the puppets (and the figs)
I liked the couple playing Amelie and Nino too (no programmes so I don’t know their names), I’ve only seen the film two or three times but I kind of have Audrey Tautou and Mathieu Kassovitz ingrained into my psyche in these roles so it took me ages to get involved in their story. It could have done with at least 20 minutes chopped off the running time too , by the time it gets to the end and the protagonists sing yet another drawn out song rather than just meeting it gets to be a bit of an endurance test..
I wish the company well with this but I don’t know how much of a draw it will be to the more casual punters.
