29 November - 1 December 2018
This November will see Andrew’s career unmasked in, among other things, song.
Written with Richard Curtis and directed by Laurence Connor, Unmasked is a not so reverential look at his life and career. This is a workshop for a planned production in the USA, it will be highly experimental and no two performances are likely to be the same. The cast, including some Lloyd Webber stalwarts, features Siobhan Dillon, Ben Forster, Tyrone Huntley, Rosanna Hyland, Ria Jones, Stephen Leask, Anna O’Byrne and Michael Xavier.
Tickets on general sale from 10am on Mon 29 Oct

I wonder why the plug was pulled on the US tour that was meant to start in the summer. Good cast, but it's predictable who will sing what.

Given that it appears to have the Official ALW backing/seal of approval, I can't see it being that unreverential. ALW's sense of humour will only stretch so far! As for the bit about no two performance being the same - obviously live performances aren't going to be identical anyway, but to emphasise that in the announcement seems a bit odd.

They played that up for the Starlight workshops at The Other Palace earlier this year as well but worded it a bit more logically to emphasise the point that its a workshop and will be developing through the run.

Booked for first performance with a nice central seat. Can’t turn down a chance to see Anna O’Byrne and Siobhan Dillon.

Booked! I'm absolutely intrigued. WHen I first read about the American production, I figured it would be just another "Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber" type concert which the RUG have produced around the globe for decades now.
This show is obviously going to be a lot more devised...

Booked for first performance with a nice central seat. Can’t turn down a chance to see Anna O’Byrne and Siobhan Dillon. I know. A stellar line up of the current wave of ALW boys and girls!! LOL
The likes of Paige, Brighton, Ball and Webb are somewhat out to pasture now...

I booked for the Saturday matinee earlier, having forgotten about it but fortunately was checking something else on here just before 11am & that reminded me to book. There were still quite a few seats available in the back half of the auditorium then but they evidently sold rapidly subsequently.

I booked myself a seat for this, I had to explain why at work I was staring at my phone, and then had to unfortunately tell everyone I was going to a show about Andrew Lloyd Webber... I'll never live this down. I am cringingly excited for this though, particularly the cast.

Thinking about this earlier I wonder if this has the potential to turn into Inception - The Musical.... A Musical about a man writing musicals... How many layers deep could they go?!
