Like A Floating Turd
Is is a really the Herb? Didn't s/he delete their profile? What kind of Lion deletes and then starts again? Plus the message was not written in the usual style

The show will be called Calendar Girls The Musical on the next tour (a wise move I think). It will open at Leeds Grand Theatre in August next year.

I really wish David Pugh and Dafydd Rogers would focus again on some new plays or comedies. Back in the day they premiered Art, A Passionate Woman and The Play What I Wrote in the West End and their revivals of Equus and Brief Encounter were decent, but now they just seem to reprise past hits (Art) and adapt hit Brit flicks (The Full Monty, Calendar Girls) in various guises and tour the life out of them. Crowd pleasers like The Band and The Full Monty and Calendar Girls have their place and their audiences, especially on tour, but it would be nice to see something a little more fresh and inventive from them once more.

God I hope they cast this well, and change elements of the score to make it at least a bit more memorable. I can't remember a single song other than the one they performed on the Oliviers and the two lines sung in the trailer of the "11 o'clock" numbrr, which was a major dissapointmenet because it was built up so much and its just a verse and chorus.

Very good pricing for the day I looked at in Leeds. I was wondering though, as they’re suggesting this is a long tour, if they do what they did with the play and change up the cast (or just a few roles) a few times as the tour goes on. Could possibly be a way of encouraging repeat views amongst the Barlow fans to see all cast members, or to get a few performers with a good fan backing so there could be some waves of people booking just to see someone specific. Just a thought though.

The Barlow fans gave up on it fast in London, I hope it finds its audience on the road. I imagine it will do better on the road.

I hated this horrible show. I thought it had died like Viva Forever, Charlie and Bend It, damn! Why did you hate it? It's had some bad press and such but I really enjoyed it. To me it wasn't without a lot of flaws but it got me laughing and crying throughout and I don't cry easily!

On paper, it probably wasn't really my thing, whatever that is, but I thought it was great. As did everybody else in the audience, if the standing ovation was anything to go by. That said, as I understand it, there is going to be a limited amount of re-working.
