Also I always forget that there are extended versions of all those Disney songs and so got a little surprised when she started singing lyrics I’ve never heard before! Same! There's a whole other verse of Reflection which was brand new information! Where's that been for the last 24 years?!

Well Act Two blew Act One out of the water. Lea really showed that she has complete mastery of her voice and has exquisite technique. She is one of very few performers to have perfect diction and placement in Another Hundred People, and took songs that are done to death with inane vocal affectations and gave fresh, classy renditions that were a joy to hear. Very glad to have been there tonight, but I'll definitely remember the second act more than the first.

Well, I wish I could say that I was blown away completely, but I'm afraid I wasn't. How much the audience had to do with that, I don't know, as the second half was as abysmal as the first for audience behaviour and the ushers didn't do a thing. In fact, the Palladium was just dreadful full stop tonight.
As for Lea, there is no doubt that she has an absolutely divine voice when she is at her best - I'd Give My Life for You proved that alone. But towards the end of the night for me she was trying a bit too hard - maybe she was vocally tired as it's the end of the tour, I don't know, but the last few numbers felt at the same time forced and rushed, none more so than the Les Mis medley. She has sung both of those songs far better than she did them tonight.
It was almost a shame that she had Rachelle Ann Go as her guest, because it meant I couldn't help thinking of her when Lea was singing Burn, which I'm afraid for me she over-sung. That song doesn't need so much power, she lost the subtlety and the true heartbreak in it for me.
In terms of the other songs, This is Me seemed to be done at the speed of light, and some of the other arrangements just didn't work for me - Fast Car in particular just seemed a bit disjointed. On the other hand, I loved the arrangement of Drops of Jupiter, it's always a treat to hear Reflection, and I enjoyed her singing Another Hundred People far more than I did the recent Company revival cast!
The highlights for me were her stunning duet with Rachelle of I Know Him So Well, and, surprisingly, A Whole New World. Thankfully she chose (or planted?) a guy who could really sing!
Ending it with that beautiful, stripped back Whitney number was the perfect finale, but it left me wishing she had done more of that sort of stuff rather than the modern ones, as it was her at her absolute best.

A fabulous evening, marred only by the audience behaviour that we've already moaned about. Mostly I loved the song choices (although I could do without audiences being encouraged to sing along with Let It Go). Great to hear the Miss Saigon and Les Mis choices, along with a few that were new to me (I still haven't seen Hamilton!).
Now listening to her last live album on Spotify from earlier this year on my train home and smiling 😀

I agree completely about the behaviour of the audience last night - appalling but it somehow seems to be rapidly becoming the norm. In the recent BBC One drama Years and Years, Emma Thompson's character had a gadget that cut-off all mobile phone access during a political rally! Oh to have that in the West End and concert world these days!

Absolutely loved it last night - highlight of my year. Lea was in impeccable voice and I love her between-song chat. Really happy to hear Reflection in particular, as well as Story of My Life, which has been a favourite of mine since she released the Blurred Lines album. Delighted to see Rachelle Ann Go too, and nice to hear them sing I Know Him So Well rather than bellowing Movie In My Mind at each other (though I would have been pretty ecstatic to see that too).
Sound was absolutely perfect at the back of the stalls (as you might expect right in front of the sound desk).
Audience behaviour near me (back of the stalls) was mixed, mostly impeccable, and then a few people filming and on phones throughout. Decided early on not to let myself get annoyed by it, and just enjoy it - I've certainly seen much worse at concerts, it just feels out of place in a theatre venue.

Judging from her Instagram she was in the audience for the matinee!

For those who can't make the concerts, I've just spotted that Lea has released this live album recently - looks like the track listing is fairly similar to the setlists mentioned above. Thought some might find it enjoyable 😀 Thanks for this. Loving it!!

I find it very weird the way she's promoting this concert - considering it's actually a double-headliner with John Barrowman.

This is the accompanying album to the PBS concert that aired a couple of weeks ago. Such a good show!

If anyone can post the setlist/any special guests I'd be very grateful! No special guests. Quite a varied setlist including songs from Hamilton and Sondheim plus an encore medley of pop songs that included Take That. A little disappointed that she didn't do a lot of her famous songs, instead condensing them all into a medley to finish the main part of the show. She sounded amazing, closing the first half with a stunning performance of Bring Him Home.

Loved Bring Him Home, thought the 2nd act in particular was stunning although I’ll agree about the medley. She was on top form tonight and seemed to be having a good time herself!

So no On My Own or IDAD, except in a medley? Hmmm, shame... I'm guessing the same for Miss Saigon?
