With the list of ADs in London Theatre (and now beyond) moving on/vacating, and the fact I can't keep up right now (they do this every few years) I thought a thread of who we'd like, who we'd expect etc etc
Rachel O'Riordian is leaving the Sherman for the Lyric, my money is on Tamara Harvey also leaving Clwyd for one of them too (come on neither of them were exactly looking for a career in the Welsh 'provinces')
Who else do you see/want to take these jobs?

If Tamara Harvey does want to leave Clwyd, I would love her to move to the Hampstead. She's worked there before, she's unafraid of new writing, and she'd be a good visible choice to counteract any lingering worries over Ed Hall's "but it's HARD to find WOMEN who write PLAYS" nonsense.
Quick round-up:
Sean Holmes leaving the Lyric Hammersmith, replaced by Rachel O'Riordan.
Madani Younis leaving the Bush for the Southbank Centre, no replacement yet.
Ed Hall leaving the Hampstead, no replacement yet.
Simon Godwin announced as AD for Shakespeare Theatre Company in DC.
Anyone else looking like they might be interested in throwing their hats into or out of the ring at this moment in time? Is Jamie Lloyd looking to settle down? Has Rupert Goold done everything at the Almeida he set out to do?

Tamara is an utter QUEEN and a downright lovely person, as I love the Hamstead I would love her to take over there (and move in) she's an utter champion for women so she could truly undo the Hall era in that respect. Shall we start a campaign?
(also I have zero insider knowledge I just get the feeling post Home I'm Darling and post second baby she'll be looking to move on soon)

Tamara Harvey at Hampstead would be an inspired choice, I imagine Jamie Lloyd is too busy running his own company to consider being a AD
It’s interesting that ADs in the UK don’t tend to stay in one place for a long time. In the US, it’s like 30-40 years

I suspect Goold or perhaps Featherstone will try out for the NT AD job when it becomes available, I imagine Matthew Warchus will likely leave The Old Vic in 2020, I think he mentioned he's only doing 5 years and he's currently in his third.

I get the feeling Greg Doran will remain AD at the RSC for a few more years but I have no clue who would be a good replacement.

I kind of assumed Godwin was using that as a bit of a try-out as well. I'd welcome Daniel Evans back to Wales with open arms if he wanted to come back and run the Sherman (as much as I want women in jobs, I also want people who will programme theatre I want to see), and we've got the other two run by women for now so we can let a bloke in  If I was putting money on the first woman AD at the Nash Featherstone would be a strong one I reckon. And yes Jon in the US they hang on for grim death!! |

VF is very strong and I think the Nash needs someone who has experience of running a building. |

I agree about the Nash- you need someone who has run a building before because even if yours is creative remit not practical (as the Nash etc have an executive director and team for that side) you still need that awareness of the whole package.
I’d love to see my girl Marianne do it (and I predict she will return one day) but you need to run a space first before taking on that beast. VF could do it.
I’d also LOVE VF to walk into the Old Vic and wipe that slate clean. Because you know she would take no prisoners.
While we’re at it, I’ll gladly take on the executive side of any of these and sort some messes (and men) out.

High Tide still need to announce their new AD (they're currently interviewing and will announce in early December) though that's not a building.

And in a late addition the Sherman have (finally) announced theirs... Joe Murphy who I admit I don't know much about, but he seems well qualifed and has excellent ginger hair and beard combo in the press release. Which we like. It’s been announced that Sarah Frankcom will be leaving her AD post at the Manc Royal Exchange to take up the role of Director of LAMDA in November. Her 4yr tenure has seen some fantastic pieces of drama at the REX. Hopefully her replacement will continue this work.

Sean Foley has been announced as Rox Silbert's replacement at the Rep, with Amit Sharma leaving Graeae to become his deputy AD.
Meanwhile Graeae's current AD Jenny Sealey announced she's starting up her own theatre company. It's not known whether she will remain AD of Graeae as well.
The musical chairs continue!
