Sitting with a Pint in the bar, soaking in the atmosphere.

What is the Queen’s theatre foyer like? We like to arrive at the theatre early to explore the foyer areas and have so far never been to the Queen’s. It's a bit of a scrum when the show is going in as the merchandise stand is on the left as well as the bar just further down, and so with people queuing there and going to find their seats it gets pretty packed. It's a nice building though, some good Les Mis artwork on the walls. If you're in the dress circle the bar is nice there, big windows and lots of space. Less so in the stalls. |

I visited the Traverse Theatre, Edinburgh last night and I really really liked it. It’s so chilled, the bar is really big and nice, fairly reasonably priced drinks, and the ushers are lovely. It doesn’t really feel like a theatre, it feels like a bohemian bar in Shoreditch. The auditorium has comfy sofa-style seats, and it didn’t feel crowded even though the house was full.

Recently visited the Manchester Palace and wasn’t the biggest fan. It just felt very cramped, both in the foyer and the seating area, and none of the staff were particularly nice, with some coming across as quite rude and abrupt.
It might not have helped that the night was tinged with sadness with it being the closing night of a successful touring production which has been running for 5 years.

Theatre Royal Stratford East, the foyer is a comfortable place for a coffee before the play and a good mix of the old and new.
Only the second time here and looking at the upcoming productions not likely to be the last.
