Sarah appears to have announced she is leaving, so I guess her last show overall will be 4th January alongside Sandra. Where has she said this?

Joel Montague on instagram stories just answered a question about how long he is on as Ogie for and mentioned that it was end of January but 'maybe a bit longer' - thought Gavin was due on around 27 Jan? He also said he's off on 21 December if that is useful for anyone

Interesting he's in for such a short run, but I've heard Hannah T is around the same date for Dawn.

Has anyone seen the new cast yet and what are your thoughts?! I’m missing the OGs still, ngl! I saw a fan of the show who didn’t feel Hannah was a strong Dawn but she didn’t go into details of why! And it’s early in her run too and will take time for her to settle in. I think Laura though is a hard person to follow because she just nailed Dawn. Perfect casting!

Seemed weird that this dropped so far. Nobody at weekend shows for joe etc leaving? Yes I was at the cast change show. Some very emotional moments for Laura Baldwin during the show, and some lovely speeches at the end including some quite interesting and negative comments from Lucie Jones which referenced Laura being replaced earlier on in the year for Ashley Roberts!! Overall was a great return visit, going to try and return in the next few weeks to see the new cast members (would be interested to hear reviews from anyone else that has seen them already?) What did she say?

Was there last night- full cast apart from Olivia as Jenna and Piers as Earl. As it was a Friday night I was expecting it to be quite full but was saddened to see lots of empty seats in the stalls. However once the audience warmed up they lapped up every second, particularly after an interval tipple!
I thought Olivia was incredible as Jenna, and because she does look a lot younger than the others I think it gives her decision to keep the baby more emotional weight. Little jarring to see her boyfriend play Earl- but Piers was absolutely fantastic, and in my opinion deserving of the lead.
Really enjoyed Joel as Ogie- and nice to see someone that can finally fully sing out in the part- audience loved him. Hannah was good as Dawn acting-wise but noticeably weaker vocally than the rest I would say.
My first time seeing David as Dr P and can see why he's the lead- hams up the awkward/neurotic side and gets much more laughs. Rest of the cast great- (although I was very surprised when Cal walked out as I watched Richard TW as Franklin Jr in 9 to 5 just a couple of weeks ago!) Sandra got lots of laughs and applause.
Overall- absolutely loved it last night. The scene with Jenna saying "get out before I get someone to carry you out" never fails to form a sizeable lump in my throat. Will be very sorry to see it close in July.

Will be very sorry to see it close in July. I’d like to go back an see it again with Olivia. I saw her as Jenna when it was I think her first time (or at least one of the first few) and as endearing as she was as Jenna, for me her voice just isn’t on the same level as Kat or Lucie. But I think she was super nervous and you could tell, so I’m sure she’s settled into the role now. It’s definitely nice to have a different perspective of a younger Jenna. Sad to hear about empty seats, but I imagine the show’s probably gonna be in a bit of a lull now until Sara and Gavin come in. Not sure how much difference Joe made but there’ll def be a few less in because he’s left now, and with Marisha and Laura having left too. Crazy that David is the only OG left of the main cast!!

I first saw this show in New York back in previews and loved it! I find it and jenna’s story so relatable to me on a personal level so it will always have a special place in my heart. The only Jenna (of those I’ve seen) I haven’t really liked was Shoshana because her Jenna was like an overwrought emotional sledgehammer coming at me and it was just wayyyyyy too much! 😆
Saw it in London back in June with Katharine and thought she was outstanding (and that voice, just wow), and then finally caught Lucie in it last week (which happened to be the last show of a number of cast members). She was really good too (although as an American I found her southern accent to be pretty questionable 😬 ) even if I didn’t feel as emotionally invested in her Jenna. Laura is perhaps my favorite of all the Dawns I’ve seen. As if the role was made for her 😍
Going to be sad when it’s no more 😭

I have a friend who hated her in the show (for the same reasons you gave haha) and a friend who loved her. I think if you know her shtick and buy into how intense she is then you’ll probably love her, but I can totally get why it’s not for everyone. I’ve seen her in a solo gig and she’s fab but I wouldn’t necessarily rush to see her in a show.

My wife and I finally saw this on Friday last week.
The show is not really my cup of tea, I'm more of a characters and story guy and kind of found everyone formulaic (Sassy Black Friend! Crass Nasty Boyfriend! Awkward Friend! Gruff Boss!) and the pace of the story a little all over the place, although I did love the dark shade of the main romance (I am convinced that the Doctor's wife wasn't mentioned until after the affair started, though).
Everyone in the show with one notable exception was terrific, particularly David Hunter. It's obvious he's one of the few remaining OGs, he is supremely confident and entirely convincing in the role and clearly having the time of his life. He has improved somewhere between 10 and 20,000x since I saw him in Once and fully deserves to be the bonafide West End leading man he now is. Olivia Moore was extremely impressive as Jenna; although she took a while to get going, by the time she'd found her volume and confidence she owned the stage and brought the house down. Joel Montague is fast becoming one of my favourite stage actors and ran away with every single scene he was in.
Hannah Tointon, unfortunately, was absolutely terrible and her big solo song was honestly embarrassing to watch. Her characterisation is okay but she does not have anywhere close to a good enough voice to do the material justice and at one point I thought she was going to be swallowed whole by the gap in ability between her and the other leads. Maybe she'll get better as she gets used to the demands of the show but it was rather disappointing to see that performance after the unanimous praise Laura Baldwin got.
Overall I'm very happy I finally managed to bag half-affordable tickets to this (row E of the Dress was great, thanks as ever Theatremonkey) but am in no real rush to see it again. I had a perfectly nice evening but don't consider this one a classic.

I really don't understand why they would get a Dawn who can't sing, especially when it's not even a case of star casting. Same with Sandra, her acting is good but her voice is far from strong enough for the material and her IDPI was disappointing. The show doesn't have the quality that it had with the OGs and if they want to film it with Sara and Gavin (which I think they should) they really have to step up their casting game.

I haven’t seen Hannah but I have to disagree as far as Sandra goes, I thought she had a great voice. You have to have pipes to play Motormouth Maybelle so she’s definitely more than just a good actress in my opinion.

The cast I saw last week certainly was not as strong overall as the OG cast I saw in June. Hard to beat Marisha, Katharine and Laura who are maybe my favorite Becky/Jenna/Dawn trio I’ve seen in the show. I think what Waitress on Broadway has always done well is maintain the quality casts through all the changes, and I hope Waitress London can do the same. I liked Sara as Jenna when I saw her in the show beginning of 2018, but I would say she has a certain acting style that might not be to everyone’s tastes, or maybe just not mine. Hard to explain, but I could just really tell she was acting, if that makes sense. Singing was sensational of course!

Sandra Marvin seems to be leaving as she's been announced as part of the cast for Romantics Anonymous starting next month.
What is with the constant cast changes in this show, its getting beyond a joke. People don't last for more than a couple of months.

Because the roles are so easy to learn anyone can just slip into them so they do. I think the producers are hoping that it attracts people to come time and time again to see "famous" people no matter how awful their acting might be, rather like panto. I think Sandra Marvin has a nice voice, but her acting is shocking. So shocking. So over the top, so false. It's embarrassing and cringeworthy.

Worth mentioning that the GILT sale has tickets for most of Sara’s run at £40 front stalls and circle and £30 for slightly further back. A steal considering it’s Sara I think, I was worried they were going to be stingy with discounts!

Much as I love Marisha I’m fuming at this! I went to her “last show” especially thinking it to be her last show and to catch her a second time and sacrificed the chance to ever get to see Kelly Agbowu as Becky and now she’s bloody coming back three months later 😂
