Presumably (hopefully!) they wouldn’t have done if they didn’t have Lucie available on standby.

Yep hopefully that’s true (although who knows with this show) but really they still shouldn’t have 2 understudies away if they can help it even with Lucie available. It’s not impossible for both Kat and Lucie to be sick and then they’d have to cancel the show, it’s not like this is something like Wicked where they have a long list of ex-green girls that they can call up to come back at the drop of a (witch’s) hat! I mean I’m no expert to tell them how to run their show but just seems silly 😂

Also what I hadn’t thought of until now is that there’s no one to cover Dawn with both Sarah and Olivia away. Even stupider! I guess they’d probably make poor old Ashley Roberts go on unannounced and underrehearsed 🙄

I thought someone said on here that she was still away and she was still posting holiday pics as of yesterday but obviously she could be back, guess whoever’s at the show today would know. If she is there it does make sense for Lucie to be Jenna to be fair because then she could go on as Dawn mid-show if something happened!

Only having 2 girls cover Dawn & Jenna between them was really playing with fire

^ It annoys me that Lucie goes on and some people on social media are of course trying to turn it into another Waitress drama, when really it’s just the simple case of their Jenna cover going on because Kat couldn't for whatever reason. Show can’t so anything right for doing wrong and people will jump on anything now to cr*p on the show!

So I got lucky on todaytix and my friend and I bagged 2 really good seats in the stalls!😬

Another fun show again .... Jack McBrayer is going from the ridiculous to the even more ridiculous! 😆 If anyone else has been a few times and seen the show recently you’ll know that Jack seems to be hamming up the hot split coffee scene more and more every time lol - well he took it to extreme lengths this evening and all the cast were completely breaking on stage! 😆 God knows what he’ll be like with that scene on his final night lol! 

So Mike Hamway as Dr P was really cute and wow does he have a lovely voice - best voice of all the Dr Ps I’ve seen! 😍 He played it straighter and was less slapstick dorky than David plays him but still funny! His Dr P did play a bit young for me (no idea how old he is?), or at least a bit young for Kat’s Jenna, so I don’t think the balance between him and Kat was quite there. It felt to me a bit like Jenna was seducing a student doctor 😆 They were still cute together but I didn’t feel the same chemistry I feel when watching Kat and David together, and it really did make me appreciate how great a Dr P and Jenna pairing they are (imo)! But considering it was only his third show as Dr P I thought he was great!  

Also is it wrong that I find Earl super sexy, because he really is?! 😆😬

I was also getting a bit sad watching Kat, Marisha and Laura this evening because I think they’re a fab trio together and soon it’ll just be Marisha 😭. I thought they were all on fire this evening and Laura’s impending hiatus is making me appreciate even more how good she is as Dawn! Marisha’s “I Didn’t Plan It” this evening was flawless and Kat’s “She Used To Be Mine” was spine tingling. 

My friend really enjoyed it. She didn’t know anything about it beforehand and said she wasn’t expecting it to be as funny, or as rude, as it was 😆

All 3 levels were open from what I could tell. 

Kat is injured/recovering from an injury at the moment isn't she?

I watched the show yesterday (the audience reaction was amazing, it was like an opening night and all 3 levels were open) and you could tell that she wasn’t giving her 100% altough she sounded amazing as usual.

Well to be fair to them they tweeted that at like 8am and I’m sure Kat intended to perform but just wasn’t able to! She just posted some insta stories from the theatre as she was there singing with the musical director to see if she could do the evening show but couldn’t. She doesn’t look particularly well.

It always seems to be the way I think when you see the finish line your body just lets go and you get sick! Like with Rosalie for her last week in Company 

No show is ever going to be to everyone’s taste. The music is more subtle and possibly less instant than some other musicals I guess (it’s not full of bombastic pop numbers), but for me there are some gorgeous moments and the score is definitely one I revisit frequently as it’s a real grower. As for the humour, I thought it was genuinely very funny in parts (I didn’t love all the jokes) and the show overall really has a ‘heart’ and moved me.

A shame it wasn’t to your taste.
